Clinton was not a legit candidate in 2016. If nothing else her health should have disqualified her.
The Clintons so thoroughly savaged the Dem Party that no names of a good candidate come to mind. That would be someone no more than 50 years old.
The Dem Party is also trying to figure out what it is/wants. One wing wants "Progressives" at all hazards. That won't work; no one calling themselves a progressive will get elected in this country. So I don't think the Dems even really have a center.
A couple of females that I could vote for would be Tulsi Gabbard the hot Hindu from Hawaii and Senator Tammy Duckworth.

It will depend on how successful Trump has been by 2018 or so. If he's actually performed well and accomplished a few popular major ticket items, then you will only see the fringe of the party trotting out. If he's an utter disaster, then I would bet you'll see the heavyweights cutting each other's throat to get in.

They will go the full blown minority track. Booker, Kamala Harris, Julian Castro ....although I think Castro has some skeletons in his closet he may not want out. Possibly Deval Patrick.
There is also a rumor from some political types that JBE may be recruited as well. He's white, he's southern and relatively young....he has the West Point resume' ....The Dems have wanted tat for the longest time. If the Louisiana economy improves in the next 3-4 years look for it.

Hickenlooper will likely get a lot of love. He is very likeable and has for the most part done a good job in CO. Has had some serious issues he has dealt with.
