Why is this news?
According to the article, we have two posts on twitter and people "saying" that players used racial slurs.
This, people, is not a newsworthy story.
It is barely a Facebook post worthy story.

Surprised that the libs haven't yet blamed southerners for influencing these young northerners to become racists. We could still be the bad guys and they would have both white and black victims to champion.

Racism will never stop because it's fire is flamed by the very victims it claims to hurt.
Entitlements used to keep democrats in power, the Jesse Jacksons, the Al Sharptons.
Further, we are easier to control whilst divided and racism is good for business.
Until we wake up to these facts, we'll continue heading down the road to idiocracy.

Having lived in both the North and the South for long periods of time, I disagree. I think both have a great deal of racism, but it just manifests itself differently.

White Americans are racist in general all over the country. The economic situation has contributed to it some. Most of it has to do with a majority white population dealing with a black president. They feel threatened by any movement of minorities into the mainstream. It threatens their power and financial base. This country was and is built on power and greed, not freedom. The civil war just ended 150 years ago. It will take several more generations of consciousness evolution to fully work racism out of the ancestral gene pool.

Check the username. I've been in DC for a long while. I used to think that DC was in the North, but when compared to NYC and Boston, DC might as well be Atlanta.
Maryland is a Southern state. It's not in the Deep South, but it's still in the South nonetheless.
