My theory on the downvoting is that the rest of the site is much more middle of the road than here. You can see this from the responses when the same subject is posted here and the OT. I think a lot of people come over here, read and downvote but don't necessarily feel like being dogpiled for expressing a dissenting opinion.

You don't have to be left wing to be labeled left wing on this board. Also a lot of people disappear when you show them up, so it's not much fun.

I'm an old time centrist who used to post on this board years ago. Zach remembers me. I was viewed as a big time liberal on this board though I have pretty much been a centrist. Centrists, when viewed by conservatives are liberal. Centrists, when viewed by liberals, tend to be conservative.
Anyways, while my opinions on things really haven't changed much, I think the left has moved further left, and they are getting much of the press.
Anyways, why do I not post here anymore? Life has gotten a bit busier. But I still come by here and read just to see what some of the major push button topics for the right wingers are.

my thoughts exactly. I used to think the PT was 95% right wing but it's really 70%/30%. The early downvotes that happen to any thread that is anti-Trump obscures the fact

I find it hilarious when people talk about the liberals getting their talking points or marching orders or whatever when everything from Drudge and info wars and Breitbart, etc is posted multiple times by multiple posters usually within a few minutes of each other. The cognitive dissonance is astounding.
