These “Reagan would be appalled at republicans today” threads are so stupid.

You think Reagan’s views wouldn’t have changed based upon everything that’s happened in the 30+ years since he was President?

They are not stupid, they expose how far the GOPe has split from the voters in the last 30 years.

The GOPe has not delivered on one campaign promise and has put Main Street last for 30 years.

Stop voting GOPe.

Betcha you also think it was Reagan came up with that scheme? Along with "Iran-Contra"??

I never said he came up with it, you can do an iota of research and see that Reagan was fully aware of Operation Cyclone

Silly comparison.

Reagan was opposed to a communist Soviet Union that was openly committed to spreading communist ideology around the world, through violence if necessary.

The Cold War ended.

There is no Soviet Union.

Russia is not communist.

Russia is not committed to spreading communism.

NATO, however, is now the expansionist power committed to reaching Russia’s borders, through violence if necessary as evidenced by the CIA orchestrated coup that sparked war in Donbass beginning in 2014.

Reagan has no application today.

Regan = puppet for US interest

Backstory :

USA kicks arse as a Democracy from WW II till the 1970's
OPEC kicks USA in nuts with (2) oil shocks in the 70's

Kills Nixon (Guy who Commies feared)
Kills Ford (Nice guy, just not POTUS level)
Kills Carter (Peacemaker & Christian, also guy who gets "stealth" off ground)

1980 Election rolls around and Ronnie & Co knows USA has another good decade of financial malaise and he would be POTUS for at least 4 years of it. Took the easy way out and escalates debt to "buy" sort term success.

- Kills the best mental health policy in history of USA
Closes long term locked care facilities (see also rise in homeless and shootings) Mental health care by police now at 8 x cost
- Kills off 1970's alternative energy (we lose 1/2 century of R&D and practice) to benefit fossil fuel donors
- Kills off "Fairness Doctrine" for pal Annenberg ==> News becomes entertainment
- Iran / Contra (should have been prison for treason) but Ollie falls on the sword for Ronnie like an old school "God & Country" guy would

Ronnie enters office
~.6T revenue / ~.7T spending / ~.08T deficit
Ronnie leaves office
~.9T revenue / ~1.1T spending / ~.16T deficit

In just 8 short years he DOUBLED the deficit.

I truly believe Bush Sr would have gotten 2 terms if Ronnie does not borrow like a drunken sailor during his 8 years in the White House.

Usually to this extent:

"Hey Mr President -- Got 5 minutes??

Before you go to lunch with Nancy we want to let you in on something you don't know about ; we've got to spend this huge unaccountable budget so we planned complicate borderline ethical-legal militaryOp sh# that's gonna help the Afghans be independent of the Ruskies and create peace on earth! We gave it a cool name that gives away the mission -- it might wind up as a real sh#storm, but Mr VP will keep you informed, K?

And...that -- like all the other sh#-stirring regime-changing ops is the extent of Reagan's "awareness" of this one. (Stop taking wiki and g00gle searches seriously)

If we're following along logically...in your opinion did the Sock-Puppetry strings also control LBJ, Nixon, Carter, Clinton, and both Bushes? (If so, for whose respective interest did they serve?)

I feel sure LBJ owed some debts to few that got paid on the backs of the rest of us.

I worked on Nixon's run and the numbers were so small by comparison.

I worked with Carter on the early days of HfH.

What Nixon and Carter shared was a hatred by the "beltway boys" who fund most D and R to this day for their benefit. They are the real "shadow government" and are greedy and self serving. They could never exert control on Nixon or Carter and to this day used media to discredit both.

We would not know Clinton if not for Gore Sr. who had large part of his personal wealth tied to fossil fuels via Occidental Petroleum. While I do think Bill severed some maters he also was the only POTUS to address the debt (tho only in his 2nd term) and Gore's daddy was tied into Jake Butcher (who some in TN may remember).

both Bushes?

Big fan of Bush Sr, not a fan of Jr

That being said ...

They are the east coast establishment
They are banking, fossil fuels, and corporate overlords
They are YALE, and they ARE Skull & Bones
They are the epicenter of arrogance, entitlement, and privilege of great wealth

Liked your summary and historical context. I'd actually have agreed with most of your "Backstory" account... up till about 20+ years ago (It's still worthy as a legit blow-by-blow account of the "on-the books" narrative -- it doesn't jibe with the "off-the-books" truth.)

The reality: All post-WW2 US policies and agenda were and are still scripted. The Globalist-MIC micro-managed it like a Hollywood production. Our 60 year old economic-dollar-industrial-social Fall was planned long in advance in evolutionary Steps.

There was NOTHING that wasn't orchestrated (ex: Gas "crisis" and OPEC holding the US hostage?? 1971 Gold Standard replaced by OIL?; Commies were deeply moles since FDR; the roles and scripts for Presidential "accomplishment"; both Bush roles as coincidental Exec Office-holders. Etc etc)

The simple truth: ALL Presidents are Puppets. AND Hood Ornaments. No US Prez has made major independent policy-agenda decisions without Bankster-Inc approval since...before the Civil War.

Respectfully disagree.

Reagan to advisers:

"Show me the intel and political compulsion AND RISK with respect to US interest in getting involved in so obvious a sphere of influence and situation between Russia and Ukraine that's been ongoing for many generations. Tell Sam Donaldson it's none of our business."

I believe my thoughts on this come from reading so many books and articles on the man...beyond what was taught on college campuses.

You have to go back to his childhood to get a real understanding of the intense hatred he had for communism. His initial desires for public service revolved around it. Everything in his political life led to the moment when he told Gorb to tear down this wall.

Could he have changed? Possibly, but I think the disdain was deeply engrained.

Ron Jr and Patty both were diametrically opposed to what their father pushed politically.

Their remarks on what Ron "would have" thought are meaningless. The folks sending billions to Ukraine today are actually the same who tried to talk him out of his Brandenberg Gate speech.

Reagan, like Trump, believed in American exceptionalism.

Reagan faced many of the same issues Trump faced. The DC establishment hated him. The RINO's hated him. The media hated him and worked 24/7 to undermine him. Imagine what could have been had DC worked with Reagan. It could have been so much better than it actually was.

Both. They have no shame so they can express whatever lunacy they like and the old school liberals have slowly but surely begun to be phased out for the more radical elements that we're seeing be elected nowadays. Those numbers are growing every single election cycle.

You are on target but good luck here with folks who have no concept of the world between WW II and the late 70's.

Not sure where this comes from but not true. If Walter was not using his media empire to push Ronnie you are too young or too blind.

Rupert never gets a foot in the door on US media ownership without this guy to be the first to open the door for media to go from equal to unequal. You want a look at potential POTUS puppet masters, this is a good place to start.

Oil fortunes
Banking fortunes
Media fortunes

If you do not know any on this list you need to do your own homework and rely less on modern media spoon feeding you the pablum for mind mush
