I'm assuming most of you started in the late 90s, early 000s. Where did you first set up shop?

Doing quite well, thank you, as is SAT...and yourself?

This one in 2015.
I joined this site mainly for tRant and really didn't venture on this board until Cruz made his announcement to run for President. I thought at the time "let's see how far left the poli board is" even though I did see more Rand avis than anything else on tRant and MSB. Boy was I wrong.
Definitely 80%+ conservative.

hanging in there. I need to give SAT a call. haven't talked with him in awhile. Was hoping he was ok. good to hear. yeah i quit that board back in 2010. old stale format unlike here. being it was a pay board it kept the trash out unlike some of the clowns and kids here but definitely good people i met in person there.

ESPN Top (20? 50?) college football board
A lot of politics discussed there believe it or not!
In-state: there was a site called lapolitics.com or something like that. It's where IB Freeman and I used to tie up. We migrated over here when it got shut down.

First was online about the time of Clinton/Lewinsky, argued a lot in AOL chat rooms and on Usenet, though I don't recall ever posting on alt.politics much, if at all.
The first specifically political board I went to was Lucianne.com, run by Jonah Goldberg's mother (does that still exist?), but it was too Easy Coast, Libertine, "We need to need to drop social issues I just love my gay friends" for me. I discovered Free Republic shortly afterward and migrated there -- but got banned from there for being too conservative. I reregistered under an alter and stayed there for years.
I discovered TD in 2007 and posted here until Nov 4, 2008. I did not post on the Poli Board again until Jan 20 of this year.

This one. My first post was about advise and assist brigades in Iraq.

Some local BBS with a 1200 baud Hayes Smartmodem.
Must have been around 1984.
(Still got that sucker in a box somewhere.)
