There are many examples on this board where public education, i.e government schools, has taken this country. Very few people on this board really understand the Constitution and what the original founders of this country had in mind, much less US history. The teachings of liberal professors in state run institutions, is outright despicable. They have twisted and skewed the truth so often that what they espouse has become truth on our campuses.

However, it's not just this board....it's the entire country along with the media that just doesn't have a clue!
It's time that we try and reign in some of this speak...especially when they call for unrest and anarchy.

Public education has created trillions of dollars in wealth in this country. It's been the single most important driver of productivity increases. It created social mobility

I guarantee that 99% of the college professors in the country would score higher than the OP using any test of intelligence available.

Goverment schools were never intended to create a highly educated populace. Today it is the first step that the government uses to indoctrinate citizens on the need for more government.

Whether or not man can have a significant impact on global climate is neither conservative nor liberal.

And it isn't only the skew towards more government dependence. The bias in history teachings should be concerning as well, particularly in light of today's PC culture.

Mitt Romney went to public schools. So did Ronald Reagan and Milton Friedman.

Since Republicans control all three branches of government and numerous state houses and legislators how can you claim public education from grade school to college has indoctrinated students to become liberals?

What is your proof? If they have been indoctrinating all these years then why have they failed so miserably?

But that isn't even up for debate. It is now 'accepted' that man is the cause, which is a politically motivated idea driven by the idea that the West's economies must be brought to heel.

I would argue they have succeeded mightily in convincing people to look towards government for solutions. Just look at how the size of government has grown.

I'm not going to pretend that everything is perfect in public education.

But I don't think you can find evidence that it (and just education in general) hasn't been an overwhelming net positive on society.

Just look how far we've come in medicine, technology, communication, etc.
