Massively stupid waste of money.
Wall as shown in mock up could have a hole big enough for 3 people to go through done with a cutting torch in 20 minutes.

Don't care if a wall is the solution to STOP ILLEGAL immigration then build the wall, if it can be stopped or slowed drastically by some other means then so be it.

Build it and hopefully they won't come.

We definitely know they will if we don't.

It seemed border security used to be one of the few things Dems and Repubs could actually agree on. Right up until 2016 when it magically became racist to be in favor of it.

That's because Dems got over the emotional appeal it has to the bottom feeders. They final realized it's irrational and a massive waste of taxpayer money. And no, Mexico will never pay for it.

12 million illegals say too late.

Instead, make it a felony to hire just one. No fines. 5 years in levenworth. Betcha no one dares hire one once we see some ceo in cuffs.

I'm am pretty left leaning. However I did vote for Trump for 2 reasons. The border wall and to try and ban the damn muslims. He is the only person in either party treating immigration and the muslims how they should be treated.
As things stand now I will also vote for him in 2020. He has done good so far IMO trying to keep his promises. Congress is failing to get things done.

This sounds like our failed drug policies.

Why can't we just do both?

Doesn't matter what we think or the plans that are submitted. If the wall is built in will be for politics are not for safety.

The idea is great but not feasible.

Build it. Saves trillions over a length of time. I don't trust patrols. Esp if Dems Take office they'll kill the patrols.

America is probably a lost cause either way, but strict immigration policy/enforcement gives us a fighting chance.

I'd like to see a list of options related to how effective they are. I'm not sure a high voltage elec fence and razor wire wouldn't be more effective. I'm definitely not an expert on security by any means though.

I believe the Wall should be one of the primary missions of our government. So, missionary position I guess.

I would voluntarily pay twice as much in taxes for the next 10 years if you could guarantee that the extra funds would be 100% appropriated toward building the wall and enforcing federal immigration laws. Read: Get out!

ETA: I would even be willing to donate post-tax earnings toward it. Get them out.

I don't support at all. I would much rather divert the resources to systemic elimination of the drug cartel. Take care of them, you don't need a wall.

Building a border wall is just another scam to waste government money. A wall will neither stop nor slow illegal immigration to the US. Just like most of DT's campaign "promises," it is ridiculous talk aimed at folks who think that "Mexicans are taking over the country!"
