I didn't even know his name until tonight. Republicans better hope he fails to get his message out because if he draws even 5% Mary goes back for sure.

Hey it is message of real change and is not "I am not Mary" or "I am Mary" which seems to be the message of Cassidy and Landrieu.

I imagine the 5% voting for a Libertarian candidate would be drawn from potential Republican voters.

He's not part of the Republican or Democrat machine. That's what is wrong with him.

Even if you're correct how does it make Mary get 50%+ of the total vote?

Doesn't matter. In our jungle primary if nobody gets 50% the top two run it off. So if the republican vote is split it doesn't mean Mary gets 50%.
That is how Duke ended up in a runoff with EWE. There was only one major democrat-EWE--and a half dozen republicans that split the rest of the vote with Duke leading barely. I think he got like 15% of the vote but it was the second most.

Fair enough. I'm assuming that the numbers between Landrieu and whoever y'alls R candidates are would be fairly close. Obviously, The R could win 51%, Landrieu 44%, and the Libertarian 5%.

Understood. I am admittedly ignorant of y'alls election laws.

I don't think you understand how the La primary election system works.

That's why it blows my mind that so many Republicans tell me that if I vote for the libertarian than I'm voting for the Democrat. Tools..

Might be true in a national election but not the state. I don't particularly care for the jungle primaries.
I have never voted for a democrat for President. I voted for Browne in W's first election after I was convinced there was no way Gore would carry Louisiana.
I voted for EWE instead of Duke and I think voted Landrieu instead of Jenkins whom I hated. I may not have voted for either and just skipped that run off. I never have like Landrieu--I don't like any of those candidates from political dynasty families. They have all gotten rich off of their careers in politics.

I'm a huge fan of the jungle primaries for the sole reason that it means you don't have to vote against somebody.

This guy should run for a state seat first. Try and get name recognition. Then move to on Congress and then Senate.
Right now he is nonexistent and will remain so.
