Look up Ted Cruz, Rick Perry, Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann, Mike Huckabee, etc., and Dominionist Theology.
I did.
So whats the connection between them fellas and some wannabe theocratic lords of the dominion?

Like you defending Obama?
That's different. It's OK for the President to order the extrajudicial killing of American citizens. It's OK to leave a newborn on a table to die. It's OK to spy on Americans without a warrant. It's OK to steal your house out from under you and give it to a private interest. It's OK to force you to buy a good or service from a for-profit corporation.
Even the 1000 lashes would have been perfectly acceptable if it had been for a different reason.

How about a corollary, what happens when church and state are separated? It is fairly easy to predict, just ask the citizen of North Korea, the former Soviet Union, Cambodia or China.
Thats when people and religion are separated, or really when people are their rights are separated.
North Korea isn't the way it is because they don't pray in school.

I really, really hope this post is sarcasm. If not, either kill yourself, or move over to your dream in Saudi Arabia. Seriously, you can't have an IQ above room temperature to type something this unbelievably stupid.
EDIT: And the fact that I'm not only the first person to dislike that post, but that there were three people who actually liked that post before a dislike proves what a bunch of mouth breathers this board as a whole is and completely justifies y'all being the single dumbest board on this site. Seriously, congrats to you tards.

You need to shut the frick up.
This is an absolute joke of a post.

And 4 people liked it, Sentrius. That's what kind of morons we're dealing with on this site. Just complete mouth breathers who shouldn't be allowed to breed.

It's more like Rex completely brings out the worst of this board and gets the mouth breathers to post stupid shite. The best threads are an honest conservative and an honest liberal for example NC_Tigah and VOR.
I disagree with you on the Intelligience of this board. It's actually very intelligent even when the mood can get partisan. SFP has noted this before.

I don't have that much of a problem with pro-life people, but I do have a problem with people who think that a society that treats their dogs better than their wives, beat the shite out of them if they look at them the wrong way, don't allow them to even show their ankles, and behead them for not being virgins is a preferable society to one that puts up with abortion. I'd rather not live in the same country as you.

I'm actually very pro-life. See my posts in the thread about the brain dead woman that was pregnant.
Difference is though, I'm grounded in and understand reality and I refuse to be partisan. A post like the one I derisively responded to is neither here nor there with the topic of the OP. The Mideast is a completely different situation and they do not have any redeemable qualities at all. None.

This isnt a religion problem, its an Islam problem.
While no theocracy would be enjoyable by any stretch, an Islamic government is certainly more horrifying than a western christian government would be. The fact is that, for the most part, our religious fundies are just obnoxious and mildly amusing. Theirs are decidedly less entertaining.

Religion has caused just as many atrocities as your examples, and arguably more.
You're drunk and stupid.

quote:I think many people are coming around to this. Western Europe is filled with countries that have a state religion. This is a cultural issue, not a state one. When you have a fricked up culture that the devil is influencing, you will have a ghoulish state (see imperial Japan). I'm not advocating for Christianity to be made the state religion, but we would not see anything close to an atrocity ever come about because of it. Our culture wouldn't allow it.
This isnt a religion problem, its an Islam problem.

Sentrius, you have to know that you, I, and a few other posters are quite easily in the top 5% of intelligence in this board. Yes there are some smart posters here, but the drop off rate in stupidity is pretty astounding.

That's the difference between us, and them. We are allowed to practice our own freedom of thought or religion. We may not always agree, but it doesn't equal to death.

Not that I disagree with your posts concerning a comparison between an Islamist state and a Liberal government policy, but there's no reason to be smarmy about yourself while sucking up to another poster.

quote:The facts speak for themselves, but I do not believe the results were inevitable. Do you understand what the OP did? He implied that religion is the cause of governmental abuses of citizens based on a single example. Not a cause, which I will freely admit, but the cause. I provided multiple examples of governmental abuses where religion was not the cause.
Are you insinuating that if religion stays out of gov't the result is North Korea or the Soviet Union?
Governmental abuses are about one thing, power. People will do whatever they feel is necessary to obtain, and retain, power. Would you be happier if I used Iraq or Syria as examples? Secular governments in predominantly Muslim countries who abuse their citizens for non-religious purposes. Is it coincidence that the leaders of both countries attempted appeals to religion to prop up their unpopular regimes when threatened with loss of power? Not to me. Those seeking power will use any method necessary to achieve their ends.

Must be similar to you and the puppies having divergent thoughts on someting of importance.

I would say that 99.99999% of pro life Christians abhor the common Islamic practices in Saudi Arabia so to in any way suggest they are the same just because they hate abortion is ridiculous. I think the comment that you saw as somehow defending Saudi Arabia was just pointing out how horrific 50 million unborn babies being killed (many of them late term) is to a lot of people.
