What can we do to bring reform to our government.

Let's assume the following, which I think are reasonable:

1. DC is a cesspool of corruption.

2. Neither Donald Trump, nor Ron DeSantis will be able to drain this swamp.

One of the problems that nobody seems to talk about is that the parties control the candidates at all levels. It is hard to get a candidate who is not a party sycophant on the ballot in the general election at the state or national level. The general election is almost always limited to swampy Republican vs swampy Democrat.

Donald Trump was able to short circuit the system because of his self-funding and name recognition. He was clearly NOT the establishment choice.

The Democrats, on the other hand, were much more in control of their candidate selection. They showed that in 2016, when they took out Bernie, and in 2020, when they made Biden the nominee, instead of one of a number of candidates who actually can remember what they had for breakfast this morning.

At any rate, what can be done to reel in the party control over candidates?

This. It’s beyond reform. Only States could dismantle the Fed and they won’t.

I just posted this in another thread.... Apart from a revolution, a strong third party is our only hope to see any meaningful change.

I ask myself this all the time. What could be done? Its obvious that money controls the politicians that they select.

We only vote on which dick we want to frick us, and hell, who even knows if that is accurate?

What would be required to reform government will never be done because it requires those profiting from how things are to take away from themselves.

DC does not draw many selfless civil servants. What is DOES draw are highly ambitious people wanting to reach the peak of their career, usually through any means necessary. Couple that with a glut of corporate and foreign money looking to steer governance in this country, and short of a violent uprising, the people have practically lost any ability to influence Washington DC.

That "town" needs to be ended. State elected officials need to be called back closer to home and made accountable to the states and districts they serve. The US intelligence community needs to be gutted. The overall spread of government needs to be trimmed back substantially. Virginia shouldn't be getting filled with millionaires from "civil servants".

None of this will happen. The inmates are running the asylum.

I don't know what the end result will be, but what is required will make the revolution seem like a cakewalk. The entire governing apparatus will have to be redesigned. The economic system will be completely different from the dying one that we now have.

I wish that I possessed the foresight to see what is coming. Its going to be a wild ride.

Our only hope is to defund them by refusing to pay taxes! They have no reason to change because we fund their behavior.

We have no real judiciary in this country because law is no longer a profession.

Stop voting for incumbents. I will keep saying this. Over and over and over again.

Six members of the House merit consideration for 2024, and that's it:
Crane AZ
Biggs AZ
Boebert CO
Gaetz FL
Rosendale MT
Good VA

Only 3 members of the Senate, of those on the ballot, merit consideration in 2024:
Blackburn TN
Braun IN
Hawley MO

The rest either voted for the Omnibus, Ukraine funding, supported McCarthy, or a combination. These should be deal breakers. Omnibus is just a slap in the face to the People. Ukraine is a boondoggle with no strategic value for the US. McCarthy is swamp, he is Paul Ryan v2.

Stop voting for incumbents. Stop giving money to the DNC and RNC. Draw a hard line and send a message. Cleaning out Congress in 2024 is the only way you're going to neuter the remaining 2/3 of the Senate and people like Graham. Stop counting on people like Chip Roy, who's just going to cave in and support people like McCarthy, which is exactly what he did.

There are no Democrats, nationwide at any level, that deserve re-election in 2024. Virtually no Republicans deserve re-election in 2024. Reject these two parties and you will see progress.

There's little hope of cleaning up the corruption in the federal government and its related agencies without a massive purge of all career politicians and entrenched Bureaucratic State leadership.....it's where we are.

Defund the FBI, CIA and a total cleanout of the DOJ. They are allowing the politicians to be above the law while coming down hard on citizens for the smallest, sometimes made up infraction.

With the current whistle blowers and Twitter files release there is proof that they engaged in election interference and censorship with big tech.

They must go.
