I mean, killing a bunch of oppressed poor people and likely some of their neighbors would be a bad thing from any reasonable person's perspective.

What scares me the most is if we launched missiles, would Russia and China just sit idle while nukes are headed to their part of the world hoping they are meant for NK

We don't have the capability of stopping every launch they make against SK. So the good will come with the bad. I think at the end of the day China won't go to bat for NK. We just end up with a very shitty situation where we had to kill innocents for the greater good.

Ummm, what happens to South Korea could put the Asian economy into a downward spiral, and thus affecting us. Not to mention the millions of dead South Koreans and foreigners including our fellow Americans who live and are stationed there. South Korea is our strongest ally in the area, so we need to protect them at almost any cost.

Hopefully we live in an age where Russia and China know that no reasonable actor wants to pick a major power nuclear fight, and knows the US is, at least on issues of this magnitude, a reasonable actor. I'm not sure that was always the case.
But your point is still a valid one

Since you obviously haven't thought this through I'll bite.

See the fallout from turning NK into glass is both Russia and China.
Taiwan and Japan would likely feel that, nevermind our long standing allies the South Koreans.
