Pence is a good politician but he's basically the equivalent of Biden to the left. So Trump did a job from the assasination standpoint

NSA monitors the entire Internet at all times. They save EVERYTHING on "the Internet" to their data center in Utah. That is to say, they have an entire backup of every bit of data on the Internet, probably several months worth (but no one knows for sure since what goes on at Utah is highly classified).
I doubt they keep an eye on idle political chatter. They probably have targets based on what they call "selectors." There's simply too much data to sift through -- they have to choose carefully where they dedicate human resources.
