Was the Niger ambush a consequence of Trump's travel ban?

FP: America should beware a Chadian military scorned
quote:
For reasons that remain unclear, U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration included the Central African nation of Chad in the latest iteration of its infamous travel ban, which also targets citizens from Iran, Libya, North Korea, Somalia, Syria, Venezuela, and Yemen. The move came as a shock to most observers, not least because Chad, in the White House’s own words, is an “important and valuable counterterrorism partner” in a region threatened by al Qaeda, the Islamic State, and Boko Haram. Now Washington may learn, in the least pleasant fashion possible, just how important and valuable Chad has been.
...
Regardless of the rationale for including Chad in the ban, the decision was a mistake. The partial withdrawal of Chadian soldiers from places like southeastern Niger, an area that has been heavily targeted by Boko Haram in recent years, could result in swift and serious consequences. Initial reports indicate that the security situation there has already begun to deteriorate in the vacuum left by departing Chadian forces: Boko Haram attacks have escalated since the withdrawal, and so has banditry, a chronic regional problem. A security vacuum will also have political and humanitarian consequences, imperiling tentative deradicalization and amnesty efforts by Niger’s government and making it more difficult to get vital assistance to millions of displaced people in the Lake Chad region.

I don't know about Chad but Trump's travel ban likely caused hurricanes Harvey and Maria.

Chad needs to upgrade their immigration procedures if they want this country's friendship without reservations. That's the only reason I read why Chad was added to the list, insufficient paperwork for travel to the U.S.
So, how many exceptions to our immigration rules do you want us to make?

Nah they're on opposite sides of the border

Wow. This is taking Trump Derangement Syndrome to a whole new level. It is pretty disgusting. Using the deaths of American servicemen for a political game. You threw your morals out the window a long time ago, though, so this doesn't doesn't surprise me.

That should make it easy to find the ambushers, let's find out who had their plane reservations cancelled.

I watch/listen to a lot of news during the day . I can honestly say that until this week I had never heard Nighjure pronounce that way by the media. Appears some of the media doesn't trust their heralded news staffs of having an "oops" moment with the pronunciation.

Probably why he wanted to ban this particular area.

Was 9/11 a consequence of Clinton incompetence?
well... actually, it might have been. Bad comparison.
Was the slaughtering of police officers in cold blood a consequence of Obama's misleading of the country?
Dammit... I did it again.

Chad actually ran out of passport paper and couldn't print a new passport to give to the US so we could check it and see if it was easily copyable. We also wouldn't allow them to give us a recently printed passport, the state dept and homeland insisted on a new one.
So Chad essentially was put on the list due to an office supply problem.
