Right. I don't care as much about whether he practiced Islam and became radicalized by ISIS. The existence of the terrorist ideology is the main issue here. The fact that it is showing up on multiple occasions over the dude's life is concerning because it may have been his tipping point

I don't think we should be too concerned if he's more crazy than terrorist.

I think that's likely the case, but who knows. My main driving factor is that more terrorist than nutjob likely wouldn't go complain about ISIS controlling his thoughts to the FBI.

But either way, the narrative is the same. He's either a true believer, or he's a nutjob and the ideology of radical Islam is so dangerous that it can aggravate mental illness to acts of terror.

I'm not one to shy away from attributing acts of violence to Wahhabism, but I really do think this guy was just off his rocker, and if it hadn't been Islamism, it would have been something else.

The guy was in the Puerto Rican National Guard in a support unit in a relatively calm part of the war. I doubt he ever saw a day of actual combat, and he's claiming PTSD.

He's schizo.

Is it standard procedure to ignore terrorists when one is discovered in uniform?

Google "Fort Hood Shooting" or "Nidal Hasan" before you answer.

No one is that that.

Also, WE(American Citizens) should get to decide who we want in the US. It is not a right for anyone around the world to come here. It is and should be OUR choice.

Don't bother telling me he was a citizen here because that is not what your post was referring to and it is not what I am answering about.

You are a loon. What does any of this have to do with my comments, or the OP?

Back to the point. The Muslim ideology and culture is not compatible with the American way of life, culture, or constitution/ideas.

Yes we have plenty of American's who commit crimes and atrocities but we don't have to allow others to come here that will or do.

For you Muslim lovers

You sound mentally unstable. But carry on, I'm highly entertained.

Just saw on Fox that law enforcement "refuses to rule out ties to terrorism"

The guy is in Alaska, but needs to travel through Minnesota to get to Florida to commit terrorism; in a specific terminal that he had to leave (to load his gun) and then return to in order to commit his random act of terror.

Because Islam hates those people in that particular state, in that particular airport, in that particular terminal....wait for it.....for their freedom.

Am I doing it right?

He was in contact with ISIS shortly before he committed this crime, and he's had a history of following them. He was in contact with the FBI. He may have gone to mass on Sundays, the Synagogue on Saturdays, and watched the NFL on Monday night. He probably identified with other groups as well. Which group do you think encouraged him to commit mass murder in an airport? A Catholic priest? John Gruden?

This is the point we all will miss in this. (And it's not the first time the FBI has dropped the ball in complete wtf ineptitiude.) Seriously, is the FBI/Police run by Barney Fife nowadays or what? Are there too many agencies? To: the point that the left hand doesn't know what the right (DHS) hand is doing?

quote:

The shooter – whose troubled behavior had already drawn the attention of the FBI, Army, and Anchorage police – arrived Friday afternoon at the busy airport on a flight from Alaska, with the gun used in the shooting properly stored in his checked baggage, NBC News reports. Police had taken the gun the month before after the FBI encounter but returned it.

Oh believe me, I didn't miss this point. but if the guy committed no crime, what should the FBI do?

Nothing complicated. He was carrying out jihad. He may very well be crazy, too, but these are the type of vulnerable people that radical jihadists will recruit.

Why do people continue to say it was just a lunatic lone wolf. He wasn't a lone wolf. He may have been mentally ill, but that doesn't mean that a sick, twisted organization didn't recognize that and use him as a tool in their war on western society.

Do we know he was used by them?

Lone wolf attacks are particularly disturbing and still just as muslim-y as any other terrorist attacks. This board is obsessed with acting like they don't exist.

They are far more frightening IMO

And yeah, I'll never understand why this board will not accept the "lone wolf" idea
