$50,000 sign on bonus??? Times have certainly changed.

Not really, it was up to $60,000 for certain MOS' in 2008.

It has nothing to do with covid and everything to do with the woke SJW environment the military has created.

Not many soyboys gonna go fight. Your fighters are baws from middle America and we want nothing to do with that crap

Everyone signs an 8 year contract. It’s either 4*4, 5*3, or 6*2. The first number is active second is inactive. For reserves or NG they do 6*2 6 yrs 1 weekend a month and summer drill/training. They used to have like 2 year contracts but most benefits come with active time on reserves 90 days or certain amount on AD.

I never gave out one bonus in 3 years. Sold them on intangibles and never had issues with processing or attrition. Kids who join for bonuses aren’t joining with right intentions.

We also didn’t have many I think the max was like 6k for certain mos. 11-14.

You were a Marine Recruiter if I remember correctly. You didn't have to fill the numbers the Army did. After the Army failed to make mission in FY2005, things changed for the worse.

They just don’t get that it’s the politics and social experiment taking place that has dropped the numbers.

I had this argument with one of my classmates who is an instructor at the War College. He tried unsuccessfully to defend the woke recruiting ads and said that keeping your base was unnecessary. He didn't want to continue the conversation after I pointed out that he never spent any time in USAREC.

That bonus requires an 8-year commitment and is taxable. Just as it was when I was in recruiting 14 years ago.

And mostly likely Linguist, nurse or warrant program jobs and the such. Regular Jobs in the Army may have bonuses but not $50K.

Certain MOS specialties do. We were paying $60k for 18-series.

We had a hilariously named "hispanic penetration" tracker that had us track Latino enlistments.

Every month, MEPS sent out the target MOS needs. Sometimes it was 12-series, sometimes 19-series, sometimes 15-series. Those had the largest bonuses.

The bigger the bonus the longer the obligation.

Make mission, give me more. I did have a huge rural AO so I did a lot of cruising to get away from the office. And I had my own 1 man office, so I’d shut the door and blinds and take a nap.

Ain't nothing about that free.

I wouldn't sign the dotted line for this DoD for 100k. No way in hell.

What idiot would want their children joining Brandon’s Army? Hell, this guy left our equipment in Afghanistan. Did all of our boys get out?
