also, since I am continuing to assume you are correct, let's pretend that after Trump makes America great again that the nation falls back to sleep and we elect someone that is almost as bad as Obama has been (hard to imagine, but it could happen, hell, we almost put Hillary in the WH)
what do we do if that person does not want to enforce our immigration laws?
well, if we have a big beautiful wall, that makes it harder for future presidents to let all the illegal aliens they want!
also - slop illegal immigration & we make it harder for idiot leftists to win a national election (a decent democrat could still win though)!

E verify in ALL states is not law including LA. As an employer of hundreds of people, I would like to see this passed and enforced.

The wall is just a symbol to the people of DJTs commitment to end illegal immigration IMO. Will it stop some illegals, probably. But they'll find away over/under it and we'll still need our border patrol. Hell, they have complex tunnel systems they smuggle drugs in. I'm sure the cartels would love a wall. Then they get to have people pay them to smuggle them into the states.
