VICE: confirmed purveyor of Fake News

I have watched their show occasionally on HBO. The stories they pitch are so obviously biased and the little hipster reporters play the part of innocent victim so well. All of their interviews seem like they are nothing but "gotcha" questions and the head of the network's voiceovers are dripping with egotism and arrogance.

VICE since the HBO deal has gone downhill
Some of their coverage of conflicts is very good but the last couple years has been meh.

They used to be such a good organization. Just everything has gone downhill with journalism.

VICE is the very definition of entertainment news with a heavy slant.
I have liked a lot of their stuff in the past as they will cover stuff that no one else really covers, but like with all media these days, you have to kinds sort through the slant.
Their show on HBO is way too formulaic for me now. It's always a story about how we are all going to die, and then another story about how these poor people live shitty lives and we should all feel guilty for living our luxurious lives.

Every legitimate media outlet is guilty of having to retract and/or correct reporting. All of a sudden getting a boner over it is pretty sad.

Vice has fallen on their face many times. They take chances a lot of other outlets won't take, and they cover a lot of stories other outlets won't cover. With that, they attract some brazen journalists that push the envelope. Some are good, some are bad. They had a scandal a year or two ago where one of their journalists completely made up his sources.
But again, if your standard for "fake news" is an outlet having to retract and/or correct a story, your left with a bunch of bottom feeding outlets with no standards. Ones that won't correct their mistakes are the ones not to trust.

I watched one episode of their hbo show and it was hinging on this critical charge that
1. I know is not true
2. they didn't even bother to back up the charge with anything...interviews, documents...they just said it and kept going like that was established fact. it was the episode about birth defects in Iraq
3. if hipster news is annoying to you, Documentary now did the greatest spoof ever on their HBO show. go watch it on Netflix immediately.

Season 1 of Vice on HBO was fantastic. I can barely get through any episodes after the 1st season. Not sure what happened. Maybe the success went to their head or something.

how do you find that fantastic? they just sit there and poorly narrate what you can already see.
