Politics. Shrewd politics. Likely nothing happens. It looks good for the Trump administration.
Somewhere in the IC there are probably patriots, but here again we have politics. The patriots need to turn into whistleblowers Maybe we already had that pre-inauguration. Time will tell.

Trump is setting fire to the questionable entities who helped him get to the Oval I like it a lot
I see that and the devil on my left shoulder admires the badassery and says "this is why you liked Trump anyhow"
but no. Just no, mate. No! We love St. Julian the truthful. We memed so hard for him.

The problem is we won't know if something will really happen until it happens. It's a moral dilemma for MAGA Trump/Assange baws like me.

My moral dilemma is where does the hero part cross over to the traitor part?
I don't know the answer. Needles to say I don't place much credibility on the two self identified IC people that are blind followers on here.
We have an enormous problem in this country with the power of government, and certain parts of the IC and police are part of it. I'm just not sure where the rights of people intersects with national security.

Have you even read about Assange's charges? He had sex with 2 women who went to the police station and demanded that he be checked for an STD. When the police told the women they couldn't force him to take the test is when the "rape" accusation came about.

Investigation started under Obama.

We love and want to protect our leakers, don't we folks?

He delivered plenty of bombs. The masses are unfortunately so conditioned to political corruption that most dismissed the bombs as nothing.

Trump's CIA director called Wikileaks a clearing house for Russian Intelligence. After that statement it would have been pretty hard for Trump not to step up the pressure.

It's easier to believe the platitudes about how perfect we are rather than look in the mirror and analyze our hypocrisies and shortcomings.
Never in history have humans had such easy access to so much information. And yet despite this, the American public still doesn't give a frick. Don't just blame the politicians, blame the morons in this country for buying wholeheartedly the ruse that is our two-party paradigm.

Did you think he would get away with exposing the deep state, military industrial complex?

There's too much noise for them to hear, even if they wanted to. Too many distractions like Bill O'Reilly and other nonsensical news.

Is it possible the Trump administration wants to prosecute wikileaks in order to bring to light all of the corruption? If this were to go to trial, it would be the most publicized trial in the world. The true facts would finally see the light of day. The MSM would be forced to report on the content of the leaks, and evidence would be presented as to who was behind the hacking and/or leaks.

Disgusting - this man is a hero
He is no hero. He is a grandstanding piece of shite who only cares about increasing his own influence and power. If he were truly a hero exposing truth for the benefit of the public, he wouldn't be selective about what he exposes and he wouldn't tease it and select his timing to achieve specific political goals.
And, of course, there's the fact that, without being able to keep some things secret, countries would be pretty much unable to conduct any kind of meaningful diplomacy. Getting rid of diplomacy is not exactly a heroic accomplishment.
You want to look at a hero? Look at Edward Snowden. He exposed illegal activity at great risk to himself AFTER pursuing legal channels to address the problem without success.
Assange isn't a hero just because he got your god-idiot into the White House.

If you’re going to enforce the law, you have to enforce it equally. We’ve been bitching about that for 30 years.
