US boots on the ground in Israel…

What should their acceptable mission be?
They are there so now that’s it’s not if or when but happening what should they be allowed or ordered to do?
Rescue Americans?
Work side by side with IDF?
Fly CAS missions?
Prevent “squirters”?
What IYO should the American troops be doing in Israel? Not being there isn’t an option any more.

Not sure why so many are downvoting this post. I’m not advocating troops on the ground, I’m saying since they are now there what should their mission be…

Green and Black ops are already participating actively in hostage/body recoveries for repatriation to their home nations.
I suspect if they are engaged, that should mean they would summarily put down the immediate threat that hinders their mission.
Aside from that, we should have no further involvement.

Do we have troops on the ground in Israel? I haven’t seen that announced anywhere. Though I’ve mostly just been getting updates from the main thread.

Yes, it won’t be announced. We also have NGOs & intel in country (specifically) due to this. It’s not regular units, but they are close by in other countries staged and on ships.
In regards to the OP and what you were asking, we have no reason to put them (non special forces) in there and we shouldn’t.
