New figures from the CDC...

More than 20 percent of adults are obese in every state in America, according to new figures from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

In five states - Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas and West Virginia - more than 35 percent of residents are morbidly overweight.

Colorado had the lowest rate...ah, rocky mountain air and biking and skiing and hiking.

The govt should probably quit forcing low fat diets and artificial sweeteners on the public and see what happens.

ETA: What's worse is that this is why the self reporting numbers are so high across the board to begin with.

Bill Maher had a really good bit the other night on how there is a bi-partisan effort to condemn fat shaming and act as though all body types are positive when obesity is the number one contributor to our healthcare costs.

It is not ok that our fatass country keeps getting more obese. Get off your fat fricking asses and do some EXERCISE instead of trying the 18th exotic diet this year. Jesus Christ.

Fried foods don't cause obesity.

I've watched over 50 episodes of 'My 600 pound life.' The stories are all very similar. The most universal points:

1. They become bedridden because the legs are the first to go. Human legs are not designed to carry 600 pounds.

2. They must have enablers to buy the food.

3. Most of their food is not protein (meat). It's carbs (cookies, cake, pies, soda).

4. When given a diet from the doctor they fail to lose weight and lie.. "I followed your diet. Really."

He's correct. Did anyone see this the other day?

quote:

On August 25, "plus-size" model Alexa Phelece shared a side-by-side photo of herself and a "straight-size" model wearing the same $40 one-piece bathing suit to make a statement about body positivity.

But things didn't exactly go as she had hoped they would

Here's the deal. I dont want fat people to hate themselves because that would likely contribute to a downward spiral of depression which would make them more unhealthy, but this trend of acting like its ok, or worse, HEALTHY to be obese is very troubling.
