Suella Braverman, the United Kingdom's home secretary who is responsible for law and order, has reportedly been fired.

Braverman's dismissal from the top job comes days after she criticised the London Police's handling of a pro-Palestinian march, which spurred calls from Opposition lawmakers as well as Conservative Party members to remove her from office.

The government said Braverman left her job as part of a cabinet reshuffle ahead of a general election expected next year.

But the dismissal came after Braverman drew anger from within the Conservative Party and the opposition Labour Party. After pro-Palestinian protests in London, she wrote an opinion piece for The Times of London, which was published on Thursday. In it, she blamed the police for “playing favourites” and for taking a lenient stance towards pro-Palestinian protests.

It was stated on Fox News this morning that she had submitted a draft of her OpEd to the PM for review. That office made several changes some of which she ignored before submitting the OpEd for publication.

Time for a name change. Churchill, Thatcher and Wellington are turning over in their graves.

The UK government is arresting people for silently praying to themselves while ignoring violent pro-Hamas protest

If true, then nothing to see here. She’s in the Cabinet at Sunak’s pleasure.

Ignoring your boss publicly is a good way to be shown the door.

You're right. She was obviously frustrated by the policy of her government, but she either follows orders or she resigns to make her feelings known.

Wonder if any of the hundred State Dept and USAID staffers who signed a memo criticizing Biden's policy will get fired.
