Most of them are NOT true asylum seekers. The law states that asylum seekers ask for asylum in a nation in close proximity or a bordering nation. So a Honduran should be seeking asylum in Mexico. And yet we have people flying in from every third world shite hole on the planet. Your heroes in the Biden administration are calling them "asylum seekers" in order to flout the law and you guys lap it up like little braindead lemmings should.

This is what present law provides. This is perfectly legal.
Not without a work permit they aren't. The law still requires them to apply for the EAD 150 days after they apply for asylum. Then once they file, the application has to be pending for at least 30 days before the EAD can be granted. So there is a legal 180 Day Asylum EAD Clock before asylum seekers can legally work. LINK
What recent right wing mobilization effort to "block an attempt by democrats to change the law to restrict what is happening in this case" are you referring to?
Was it the Collins (Republican) and Sinema (Independent) authored bill that attempted to reduce the work permit waiting period from 6 months to 30 days?
A RINO bill that wanted to get thousands of asylum seekers working one month after arrival because "these asylum seekers could give a much-needed boost to Maine businesses that are facing labor shortages, but the lengthy work authorization process prevents them from getting jobs"?

Yes, our government is allowing illegal immigrants to request asylum and work in the US. Yes companies like Tyson are hiring illegal immigrants because the government is allowing them meritless applications for asylum that will take years to rule on because illegals are flooding the system.

From Asylum Seeker Advocacy Project:
In general, you can apply for your first work permit 150 days or more after submitting your asylum application (Form I-589) to USCIS or the immigration court. You can receive your work permit after at least 180 days have passed since you submitted your asylum application.

Most industrial contractors use e-verify. And almost all plants require a valid ID, OSHA training, and a TWIC card. Illegals aren't getting that.

I'm familiar with at least one child molester sliding through. And he wasn't even a migrant worker.
*A lot of the Mexicans working for a railroad contractor I dealt with were actual migrants that went back to Mexico in the offseason. At least that was the claim.

I was driving through Springdale, AR a few years ago, took a wrong turn and wound up in Little Mexico, AR, with business signs completely in Spanish. Springdale is home of Tyson world headquarters.

Just looked it up and verified that. There must be another, similar, system they use for criminal history as there was a big uproar about that guy getting through and it was definitely the fault of the verification outfit.
He was found out due to a car accident and being arrested for being out of his area or some such.

Absolutely correct. US law must be changed to close this loophole and end this charade.
Under the present state of US law, anyone can present at the border and request asylum. The law provides for lawful entry and work privileges until their claim for asylum can be adjudicated. And that takes years because we don't have enough hearing officers to plow through the docket.
So we need to hire more hearing officers to eliminate the backlog of cases. We need to eliminate the work permit pending adjudication, and need to put a limit on the number of asylum seekers that we will consider.
These provisions were in the recent bipartisan bill that right wingers rose up against. The net effect of the easily manipulated morons is that the present system is unchanged.
So republican owned processing factories in the south and rural midwest can hire all the asylum seekers they want.
And the original article is specifically about that. Tyson wants to hire these legal sylum seeking migrants with their lawfully issued work permits.
Good job guys. With the republican action on the border bill, you have kept this sham going.
