Turncoat LA Law Enforcement Officials Support JBE’s Veto of Constitutional Carry

(Also posted this on the outdoor board but need to get the topic on everyone’s radar)

Giving them the name “turncoat” may be a bit generous since I doubt they ever supported the legislation but go here to let your voices be heard:
LINK
For those unaware, there are now 20 states with permitless (constitutional) carry. Many of these states have had these laws for years.
The calls of doom and gloom and blood in the streets is all theater. There is no proof that crime will increase as a result of this law. If a person still believes it despite the evidence, they believe that the people of the Louisiana are a special statistical exception to the rule that has already been established in other states. Citizens can responsibly handle more freedom, despite what our public servant overlords may say.
Support overriding JBE’s veto for freedom.

I like you Sid...but this is a bullshite argument.

Well, the fact that our murders especially have risen to ridiculous numbers and they don’t seem to be very worried about that, what would make anyone think that they were concerned with Joe Citizen’s safety and well being by denying them a constitutional right to conceal carry?
It’s not as if these murders and lawlessness is keeping them up at night.

Yeah Sid, because the bad guys are obeying the CC laws, right?
CC laws only hurt law abiding citizens. Should people get training with a firearm before they start packing? Sure!
However, this is Louisiana. Most of us have been shooting guns since elementary school.
This is all about fees.

We need a list of all these traitors.

Hopefully people are getting messages to their elected officials in the legislature on how they feel about this.

Remember Katrina.
The Governor of US Virgin Islands tried to do the same thing with Irma/Maria. It was Hegelian. Thankfully it failed.

Pure bs. As "everybody" will be unloading on "the bad guy". And this aside, what happens BEFORE Sid's guy's "walk into a room".
Sid ought to keep his mouth shut, lest he expose his ignorance; and welcome support from the good folk.

What are your Sheriffs association and Chiefs association official stances on the issue? This article and picture just illustrate to me he has a few urban Democrat chiefs and one idiot sheriff on board.

Again, Sheriff Sid Gautreaux is a blooming idiot

This will actually sway the opinion of some legislators who rely on the private prison lobby. Most concealed carry charges are just added on, extending a prison sentence.

This is all about money…..I’m not sure how much of the “training”/license money goes to the sheriffs but I don’t think it is insignificant.

Hey Sid I know this is breakingfrickingnews but the good guys won't be holding their guns sideways....see how easy it is to spot the bad guys? Dumb frick

He has crossed over to the "dark" side.
Time to replace his useless arse too.

Seeing that open carry is legal in LA, this is a strawman argument. The good guys involved in the shootout could have been open carrying, or already had a CCP, and then engaged in the shootout.
Also, if/when the police arrive, once they announce their presence the "good guys" will most likely yield to law enforcement. Then, your guys can do their job to vet the situation to determine the good from bad guys. This statement indicates he wants his guys to have the freedom to show up guns blazin to every situation.

So Sid is implying that he knows now who the bad guys are because they all are holding their guns up for him to see?

Mine responded in about 10 minutes affirming their support of an override.

A shame I could only upvote once.
The same argument they are making is the same one used when Florida led the way with shall issue permits. We have over 30 states today with shall issue with none of the wild west predictions happened and even today with over 20 states with not just open carry but constitutional carry, it hasn't materialized.
As far as training goes, some carry classes are a total joke to begin with. A guy I work with got a permit. Heres the problem. He gets a new pistol and comes tell me about his trip to the range where a guy next to him showed him what a center hold was and how when you focus on the front sight, the area around it gets blurry. In other words he had a carry permit yet had no idea on how to use the sights on his gun.
Like the rest of gun control measures its not about safety but control.
