Truth is one of the ethics principles for the NSA as told by the honest Clapper

quote:

James Clapper, the director of national intelligence, denied Thursday that he lied to Congress about government surveillance last year, and he rolled out a new national intelligence strategy that includes principles of ethics for intelligence officers.

Why is this guy even around? And why is he still lying? And why is he deciding about ethics?

quote:

"It has been very disappointing to have my integrity questioned because of a mistake," Clapper told government officials and contractors at a Washington intelligence summit.

How can it be a mistake when he previously said...

quote:

Clapper's explanations for his answer have shifted over time. Initially, Clapper stood by his comments, saying he intended to say that NSA wasn't rummaging through email. Next, he said he gave "the least untruthful" response he could muster. Then, Clapper wrote a letter to Congress last June apologizing for what he acknowledged was a "clearly erroneous" answer and explained that he was thinking of the contents of communications rather than the "to" and "from" calling records that are known as metadata.

He said he made a mistake, then said he told the least untruthful respone (meaning he lied), then said it was a mistake again.

Got it.

quote:

Among the seven ethics principles included in the new strategy document is "truth."

Does anyone actually believe he will tell the truth?

By the way...

quote:

The senator who asked Clapper about his denial, Democrat Ron Wyden, knew from classified briefings that Clapper had answered incorrectly. Wyden has said his staff gave Clapper's staff the question in advance, and afterward gave him a chance to amend his answer. That did not happen. The DNI's lawyer, Bob Litt, says Clapper's staff failed to brief him that the question was coming.

So, he was given the question in advance, he was asked the question he knew was coming, he lied, was given the chance to amend his known lie, and he lied again. Then he lies and says he didn't know the question was coming.

Then he lies and says it was a mistake. The he lies when he say he told the smallest lie he thought he could make. Then he lied when he said he gave an erroneous answer.

And now, he says don't worry. We have ethics rules, one is which is truthfulness.

Is anyone actually believing this?

Because I have to say I 100% believe him. And I believe everything that he says. And I believe Obama as well. And I am not saying this because the NSA is collecting everything we say, do, or post on the internet. I just believe them.

Honest I do. Trust me government.

There is a dialogue in the movie Clear and Present Danger which I believe has a lot of wisdom to it.

[Cortez realizes his betrayal has been exposed]
Felix Cortez: [referring to Jack Ryan] Whatever this man has told you is a lie. He LIES for a living!
Ernesto Escobedo: He is in the Intelligence business.
Felix Cortez: Exactly
.
Ernesto Escobedo: YOU'RE in the Intelligence business!
[Escobedo plays back Cortez's conversation with Cutter]

Maybe it's like a double negative; a lie about a lie makes it true. Or in this case, a lie about a lie about a lie about a lie makes it true.

I'll wait for Decatuer to post a link showing we have nothing to worry about.
