I definitely believe the left has better issues to fight and win with. This is a complete pipe dream and waste of energy.

I encourage all leftists to spend all of their time and energy in pursuit of this impeachment.

The pardon of Arpaio plainly falls within this core conception of properly impeachable offenses.

It is an impeachable offense precisely because it involves the exercise of a constitutionally created presidential power.

The use of the pardon power in this case is a direct assault on core constitutional rights, statutory civil rights laws of the United States, and the authority of courts to enforce those laws.

professor Martin Redish argues in the New York Times that this particular pardon ought to be deemed constitutionally invalid. He contends that it offends the Due Process Clause because the only effective redress for those whose rights were violated by then–Sheriff Arpaio when he defied the court’s injunction is a contempt sanction, and voiding that sanction with a pardon both neuters the judicial power to enforce constitutional rights and deprives Arpaio’s victims of relief.

Isn't this true of any pardon?

I'm pretty sure Marc Rich's victims got the shaft when Clinton pardoned him.

It's not an impeachable offense but I wonder how many Latinos have soured on the GOP because of this? The damage Trump has done to the GOP in regards to race risks becoming so deep that it's runs the risk of becoming a generational thing.

I think that more on the right should be disgusted by joe, but I don't think this is impeachable. Poor form, sure. Impeachment, no.

Even professor Redish admits that this is a novel theory, and with respect, it simply won’t fly.

Any time a president pardons someone for a criminal offense, he voids the considered judgment of some court and deprives the defendant’s victim of redress.

So what the frick is the point of this article.

We get a sensational headline, a bunch of drivel about how this is an impeachable offense and Trump has many other things being investigated that are impeachable...

And then, oh well, I'm just making this shite up, it would never fly - sorry for wasting your time but I just need more space to attack Trump.
