Why would anyone down vote this...kicking labor wonks out of the gov will allow them to fight for labor, instead of gov...

Much less the state dept and their endless strife in the ME campaign

I support the cuts, but that should be across the board. And I don't like how defense, veterans affairs, and especially homeland security are not only immune from the first like everbody else, they get increases.

Those may be more important than many other departments, but we know that they are filled also filled with bloat and inefficiencies too.

Someday I hope someone puts everbody on notice that they better become more efficient because they have to cut the fat; no special treatment.

The Federal government should be involved with national defense. Hence boosts in defense, HLS, and veterans affairs.

And massive declines elsewhere.

Ya, it would be nice if not a cut, a freeze on budget increases for four years.. Work with what you got. Force generals to prioritize programs and make cuts.

Why is "Arts and Culture" the responsibility of the taxpayers at all?

This could be the coolest thing Trump has ever proposed other than the border wall.

Any person that understands 8th grade American history and the founding concepts of the scope of Fedral Goverment can see what Trump is doing. Spend Tax dollars on things taxes are meant to pay for. Dont spend tax dollars to subsidize a bunch of BS.

2 of those 3 things are the only fricking things that have been cut over the past 8 years, and that has caused portions of the malaise in this valuable entities today.

Maybe this is just keeping everything else on par with those previous cuts?

They should be involved in national defense, but that doesn't mean that the bloatedness of those areas are somehow acceptable.

Yeah and withdrawing troops from the battlefield would naturally mean that they need less money.

But regardless, the deficit hawks have identified plenty of bloat in the defense department (I mean it is the government afterall). So as long as that bloat exists then, they too don't deserve more money. So you can spare me the emotional appeals.

Exactly. And there has been plenty of bloat identified, and even some leaders in the department have complained about the increasing bureaucracy.

And what really bothers me is that some of the outraged conservatives regarding bloated government, don't care about the bloat in the defense department, and advocate for more. Then the left has another excuse to not care when they can point out that hypocrisy.

No problem with this getting an increase for veteran programs if the inhuman people employed there are punted into orbit.

I agree, but if their intentional and probably self-serving limitations on treatment options is driving costs, then they need to fix that before getting more.

Trump should be included the VETs in this health bill.

The VA hospitals should be decreased and that money be used in local dollars.
