Its what got Comey fired. He knew nothing linked Trump to Russia, but held it out there over Trump's head anyway, as some political tool.

Why should Comey be afraid of having his conversations aired? He's snow white, remember? And why would he have surrogates make his denial of the exoneration rather than putting his name to it? You know why, but you're not capable of honest discussion.

Comey is smart enough to keep his mouth shut. He is a lawyer and knows not to say anything damaging.
