NYT

quote:

WASHINGTON — President Trump has officially reversed his campaign pledge to deport the so-called Dreamers, undocumented immigrants who came to the United States as small children.

The Department of Homeland Security announced late Thursday night that it would continue the Obama-era program intended to protect those immigrants from deportation and provide them work permits so they can find legal employment.

A fact sheet posted on the department’s website says immigrants enrolled in the 2012 program, known as Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, “will continue to be eligible” to renew every two years and notes that “no work permits will be terminated prior to their current expiration dates.”

Immigration rights activists, who have fiercely battled Mr. Trump’s travel ban and increased enforcement of other immigration laws, hailed the decision.

Why are you such a troll? He's canceling DAPA for parents of illegals and this is likely the compromise.

Compromise with who? DACA and DAPA were executive actions.

Well, you've been allowed to stay, so that policy was obviously already in effect for the Far Left Fever Dreamers...

The Lawyers have told him that's a bridge too far, Want. Waste of time and energy. They'll have to change the 'anchor baby' Law first...before any action would be possible.

Throwing MS-13 out is a good start. Good enough. They'll work down once the Wall is in place.

Hitler decides to keep the kids, sources say he likes to eat them with his favorite Chardonnay for dinner.

He has hinted at this for the last year. Put up a wall, remove the bad hombres and then work it out. I have been told something is coming this fall to help sort out the illegals that have not committed additional crimes beyond entering illegally...

Funny, I don't recall him ever pledging to deport dreams. Certainly recall him pledging to deport gangs and other criminals but not dreamers.

Did he or did he not renege on his campaign promise?

Option 1: He is bad because he broke his campaign promise.

Option 2: He is bad because he didn't REALLY want to do this. Someone forced him to do it (see Toddy's post).

Option 3: No matter what he does, dumbasses like "A Want" will not approve.

This is why i hope you DIAF. Something happens that you want, and instead of being happy, you use it to harass and try and get a rise out of Trump supporters.

Miserable POS.

Damn. you're dense. He never pledged to deport the Dreamers. Much like entitlement reform, he said he wasn't dealing with that yet.
