Trump was right. Obama was the founding father of ISIS.

I know this subject has already been posted however the link I provide is MUCH more researched, footnoted and sourced with direct administration recordings (John Kerry).
President Trump Cancels Obama/Kerry CIA Program Arming ISIS and al-Qaeda in Syria
The rest is in the link above. It's a rather long read and it will take you a couple of hours to go though the back up links and John Kerry recordings but it is well worth the time. There is no doubt that after reading that well researched piece you will conclude that Trump was right when he said during the 2016 presidential race, "Obama is the founding father of ISIS".
President Trump Cancels Obama/Kerry CIA Program Arming ISIS and al-Qaeda in Syria
quote:
Reports surface today that President Trump has cancelled the 2012/2013 covert CIA program giving weapons to ISIS and al-Qaeda in Syria. [Washington Post Link]
Various news organizations frame the issue as cancelling the program to “arm the moderate opposition to Bashir Assad”. However, those news reports are entirely false.
We know the Obama administration was arming ISIS as part of the larger Syria strategy because Secretary of State John Kerry went on record admitting the Obama Syrian strategy was actually to arm ISIS and extremist Islamic groups (al-Nusra) against Assad.
We also know Secretary Kerry was being truthful in that media-hidden, albeit recorded, admission because CTH specifically tracked and investigated the CIA weapons shipments as an accidential outcome of the finalized Benghazi Briefing material in 2013/2014.
The Washington Post might be claiming today that President Trump is discontinuing a covert CIA plan that armed “moderates”. But we know, if Trump is actually canceling this program, the actual recipients of the covert weapons plan were ISIS, al-Qaeda and al-Nusra in Syria – By their own damned admissions.
There simply is no doubt of that truth. The Washington Post is lying, and despite their earnest efforts we can actually prove their framework is a substantive and factual falsehood. Here’s some of the proof, including Kerry’s recorded admission:
* In August of 2014 President Obama (wearing a tan business suit) gave a press conference where he stated he “did not have a strategy” against ISIS. –Video Link–
* Two months later, in October of 2014, Josh Earnest gave a press conference where he stated: “Our ISIS strategy is dependent on something that does not yet exist” –Video Link–
However, on September 30th 2016 the New York Times quietly released a leaked audio recording of Secretary John Kerry meeting with multiple factions associated within Syria.
When you listen to the audio recording (embed below) it becomes immediately obvious what was going on when both of those 2014 statements were made by the White House. In addition, you discover why this jaw-dropping 2016 leak/story was buried by the U.S. media and how it connects to over 5 years of perplexing U.S. mid-east policy.
This evidence within this single story would/should forever remove any credibility toward the U.S. foreign policy under President Obama. It also destroys the credibility of a large number of well known republicans. What the recording reveals is substantive:
* First, only regime change, the removal of Bashir Assad, in Syria was the goal for President Obama. This is admitted and outlined by Secretary John Kerry.
* Secondly, in order to accomplish this primary goal, the White House was willing to watch the rise of ISIS by placing their bet that ISIS’s success would force Syrian President Bashir Assad to acquiesce toward Obama’s terms and step down.
* Thirdly, in order to facilitate the two objectives, Obama and Kerry intentionally gave arms to ISIS and even, arguably, attacked a Syrian government military convoy to stop a strategic attack upon the Islamic extremists killing 80 Syrian soldiers.
Pause for a moment and consider those three points carefully before continuing. Because this audio (below), along with accompanying research now surfacing, not only exposes these three points as truth – but also provides the specific evidence toward them.

Of course we were. We didn't know who we were giving weapons to back then. We just saw they were against Assad and thought they were good.

Some far better forethought could've been used in the lead up. Hell, even McCain was selfie'ing with the enemy. But Syria and Iraq are far different in terms of Isis formation IMO.

That was shortly after Obama's second term win in 2012. You would think that they would have scaled back the weapons to ISIS program after it was obvious around 2014 that ISIS was growing stronger due to our covert CIA support. But they didn't. They continued to provide ISIS with war provisions which led to all kinds of collateral damage atrocities which soon became the main focus of ISIS. Remember the beheadings? Remember burning people alive in cages? Remember drowning people alive in cages? That's when ISIS was strong (with our covert support) and their caliphate was strong.
Bad times.

ISIS is AQ. We knew exactly who they were. Obama renamed them to try and confuse the public.

Another huge factor to consider was the US announcing our exit strategy from Iraq. We put our timeline out there and it gave ISIS a plan for how they'd invade while we left. Even at the time, I thought that was incredibly stupid.
I remember sitting at lunch and seeing the TV and watching as ISIS was mowing down the Iraqi military and destroying ancient temples and statues, thinking "this could've been avoided."
This is why Trump will not say squat to the media about any military plans. He saw that as weakness from Obama, and possibly Bush before him.

Wasn't there a pallet of money related to the CIA program?
Not sure.
Not sure.

Another epic Obama comment that has come back to haunt us: "The JV Team".
I knew the moment he made that ignorant statement how terrible this was going to end up being.

The dumbest out of a bunch of dumb things that came out of his mouth.
If a Republican had said something that stupid in hindsight half of the news shows would put it in their intro montage every night.

When he said it, I compared it here years ago to the "Mission Accomplished" BS the MSM tied to Bush when he gave the speech on the ship where the group he was speaking to actually just completed their mission. Obviously the MSM purposely failed to tell Americans that, but you get the analogy. The Prog Filth STILL push that pic when bashing Bush not knowing the context (not that truth matters to Progs).
Either way, any time a known compulsive liar calls a group a "JV team", you know that group is about to tear shite up.

Well, we, the informed public, did. We even knew that they were radical jihadis, but the left pushed for more weapons to arm our enemies. Good job, libs. Your warhawking never ceases to amaze me.

First of all you should use better sources Noted as extreme right wing
Second of all Isis was founded in 1999 and grew to prominence in 2003 (Iraq war) and 2011( iraqi pullout).
They are wahhhabi fundamentalist (what Saudi Arabia funds) and have no been affiliated with Al Qaeda for quite a while.
Third, Trump is using the same strategy Obama had for tackling isis and it's working.

There's a lot more links for that^
Also I concur that John Kerry got the short end of the stick. If given more autonomy he would've been more successful
To say that only Obama has been funding rebel groups is complete ignorance.

that's after their rise to prominence. is Trump's admin arming ISIS like Obama's did? that's what is being discussed in this thread

Bush administration's dismantling of the Iraqi Army was the key moment in the creation of ISIS. Those disenfranchised Sunni fighters came together.

Not that I'm aware of but they're funding similar groups that could take its place.
One thing that always hinders these conversations is that there could and probably is a humongous information gap between the public and the state department

A poster with more influence than me should post this link in its own topic.
It sheds a lot of light on why we do this sort of thing.
A crash course in ... geopolitics

So when Sundance isn't stocking grocery shelves, he's tracking ME arms shipments. Sounds believable.

No, Bush 43 owns the rise of ISIS.
