Trump vows ‘insurance for everybody’ in Obamacare replacement plan

President-elect Donald Trump said in a weekend interview that he is nearing completion of a plan to replace President Obama’s signature health-care law with the goal of “insurance for everybody,” while also vowing to force drug companies to negotiate directly with the government on prices in Medicare and Medicaid.?
Trump declined to reveal specifics in the telephone interview late Saturday with The Washington Post, but any proposals from the incoming president would almost certainly dominate the Republican effort to overhaul federal health policy as he prepares to work with his party’s congressional majorities.?
Trump’s plan is likely to face questions from the right, after years of GOP opposition to further expansion of government involvement in the health-care system, and from those on the left, who see his ideas as disruptive to changes brought by the Affordable Care Act that have extended coverage to tens of millions of Americans.
Wapo
"Insurance for everybody" ......Hmm......sounds familiar.
Sounds like more of that principed Conservatism.

i dont think many classify Trump as a conservative. He has conservative tendencies, but is socially liberal to moderate on a number of the issues.
Actually, i dont think he fits under may of the traditional classifications of a national level politician. Which is in line with his "outsider" moniker. If anything i would classify his as a Nationalist/Populist with conservative leaning tendencies.

FWIW "vow" =/= "goal".
Obama had the same goal too.

He said that during his campaign. He said insurance wouldn't be denied to anyone. He also said he wanted to keep it where children can stay on their parents plan till they are 26. What he wants to do is create competition and not require someone to have to have maternity coverage when they are 80 years old. Customized plans and competition is the goal.

So where can I read this amazing plan?
I mean it absolutely exists.
And it will lower costs.
It will be great.

Everybody means everybody, not just expanding Medicare/Medicaid for Welfare Queens, then gouging the working classes to pay for it.
Think big or go home.

He has already turned them into Constitutionalists and budget hawks.

Don't worry.
Trump's cabinet is full of Goldman Sachs cronies and will win bigly on the shorts.
They win on the tanking stocks.

Without strong government involvement that will not achieve what he stated his goal is.
So either the plan changed or he is playing loose with his words.
Medicare negotiation alone is a major deviation from the current Republican platform and an injection of government involvement in medicine. Ironically one that some of the conservatives on here were lamenting a week or so ago.

We have to pass the plan to know what's in it, remember?
That's the standard dems concocted for obamacare.

Ironic you bringing up the whole "shoved it down our throats" when Republicans, and more specifically Trump, are advocating for a simultaneous repeal and replace.
If a year of negotiations and wrangling over details of the bill is "shoving it down our throats" what do you call Trump's ideal?
Anyways, it's hard to judge anything Trump says when he is just making promises right now and not offering up an actual policy.

I anticipate Trump to walk this back in the very near future.

Obamacare is more the version the Republicans made it. They amended it 70+ times before allowing its passage
