The deal is very sweet for a lot of gop benefactors.
He will cut the deal like he will prosecute Clinton and repeal obamacare.

Castro never allowed his people to taste freedom. Had little to do with US citizens being able to travel there or do business with the country. He kept his people dumb and poor on purpose.

Terminating our end of a very precarious relationship is a stupid move with no upside. I don't understand why Trump thinks this kind of leveraging will change anything. Let them get more and more of a taste of capitalism, not only will life for Cubans improve but it might lead to a long overdue political revolution. The last 50 years have done nothing for US/Cuban relations. Say what you will about BO but at least he tried something different, or dare I say, against the establishment.
What's more establishment than going immediately back to what we've done for 50 years???

Sounds like the Democratic Party.

Trump's company violated the embargo before....this doesn't make a lot of sense.

What's the point of this? As was stated before capitalisms creep will slowly erode the communist grip. The only things keeping it up were Venezuelan money which no longer exists and US sanctions. Dumb move by Trump.

yeah, cause 50 years of sanctions really helped to depose the communist party/dictatorship of cuba ...
Man, we just need to keep it up one more decade. Just be patient.

I don't know how I feel about this. Don't we want to show Cuba what democracy is all about, especially given Castro's death?

Booooom! frick dictators. Free the people.
Well that's a step in the wrong direction. That's punishing people for the acts of a dictator and one of the proven methods do undoing dictatorial regimes like Cuba is to flood them with American consumerism. Oh well.

Use The Naval Base to broadcast free, unfiltered wifi into Cuba, drop some leftover Obama phones from planes.
Once the people get a taste of freedom they will revolt.

No, but the creeping in of capitalism will. Don't like this one bit.
I as well.
Cuba has already been getting a hefty taste of good ol american capitalism and all the trappings it offers and Raul Castro sees this.
He will make some concessions if he knows whats good for him and the people he enslaves.

I would like to know this as well.
Plus what are they going to do after getting a taste? Throw pots at the regime if they don't get change?
Who remembers when democracy was about to break out in China in the 1980's?

i'd argue china and cuba are apples/oranges ... i'd also argue that failure in one place shouldn't stop an attempt in another ...
