Yep. I heard on the Viet Nam war special being aired last night that at our high point in the number of troops, the number was 500,000 troops. Amazing isn't it that we didn't have the military leaders, including the CIC, who couldn't figure a way to actually win that war in the minds of Americans, not politicians.

Johnson's "prevent defense" cost us the ball game imo.

You're exactly right. Several years ago I was part of a conversation with a gentleman who fought in Vietnam. According to him they would fight tooth and nail for days at end to capture a piece of land only to walk away and surrender it back to the cong. Two months later they were fighting for the same land.

It was insane.

And had a Democratic politician speak on their behalf. Yeah, this thing is not politically motivated at all.

Trump just went in to the whole thing with the intent to be a dick to the entire family.

so you are calling this soldier's grieving widow stupid and uneducated. got it.

Just because the soldier was an exceptional person, doesn't mean that he married one.

That hurt feelings? Good.

What I have learned in this thread. Draft dodging is not only fine but should be celebrated and that Gold Star families don’t deserve the upmost respect.

Guess I don’t know what “conservative” means anymore.

I can tell you this, I was in both Army and U.S.M.C.,
I didn't get killed obviously, but if I had,my piece of shite siblings, would be using my death to make money or get attention.
How clear is that for you?

As a matter of fact, they are always on he lookout for every sympathy dollar that they can get, and you would be surprised how well they have managed.
They wouldn't piss on me if I am on fire, they say I am too violent and controlling. I promise you though, when I stop breathing, I will somehow become their inspiration.

And when you add in the rest, it doesn't sound so bad. He did know what he signed up for. And he signed up anyway and served his country with honor.

Everyone with a functioning brain making all the connections knows this to be the case. However, it doesn't stop a democratic congresswoman from doing her party's bidding and it doesn't prevent our resident drama queens from doing what they do.

. I don't believe I would have been willing to put my young life on the line for such a cause. I completely understand why so many chose not to risk dying for essentially nothing.

Laughable, you think 18 and 19 year olds in 68 or 69 had the same perspective of politics and history that you now have the luxury of basing your principled stand?

bullshite, Trump didnt go because he is chickenshit
