I'm telling you that he received a medical deferment based on a doctors note, a doctors name who trump can't remember, that stated he had bone spurs.

So what are you basing the claim that he didn't have this condition? The military, at the time, just took his word for it? Is that how it works in your mind?

Obviously your leg was never broken. Why are you lying about it now????

Trump is coward, his country was at war and he played golf and tennis while 58,000 died.

He has no clue "what he signed up for" because he is a coward that never served.

That seems like a bad quote for Trump.

How so? TRUMP acknowledging that the solider made a sacrifice for his country and that he knew he was.

How can anyone possibly take offense to that?

Trump repeatedly gave conflicting statements on it, and couldn't even remember which one was supposedly affected.

He's a coward. He should just own up to it and say he's not the first coward to be elected President, and he won't be the last.

Only the drama queens.
Making it more about The tone of the message, than the truth of it.
What's more painful than getting killed in combat?

Obviously..having to hear about it.
The man is being lost in all of this crap.

I loathe Trump but this is an unfair quote. He did not mean this in an insensitive tone. He meant it as he knew the risk but served anyway because is a loyal American soldier.

Regardless of Trump's situation, there were a lot of American men who chose not to go fight in Vietnam and most of them are not cowards.

I wasn't alive during Vietnam and I'm not male but I don't imagine I would have been keen to fight in that conflict either.

Those who accepted their country's call are to be commended for their service but it's rather simplistic to call everyone who took another view, cowards.

You are way too reasonable to be a Trump hater.

We are talking about black cacaus member speaking the truth about Trump. Once I seen who it was. I knew she was lying. Trump says a lot of bullshite but he wouldn't say that.

VETERANS LOVE TRUMP !

Are you a real veteran? When's the last time you volunteered a few hours of your time to help vets?

Yeah if they had based their decision not to go on principles, Vietnam was a meat grinder and those that chose not to go based their decision on not wanting to get killed or wounded which is also a nice working definition of cowardice.

And if you are a coward thats fine, but its tad hypocritical to remake yourself as some sort of rah rah pro military guy when you didnt have the balls to go when your country needed you most.

Really? Without debating the imperative of the Vietnam conflict I hardly think the republic was in jeopardy at any time. I don't believe I would have been willing to put my young life on the line for such a cause. I completely understand why so many chose not to risk dying for essentially nothing.

It's hard to imagine a bigger waste of lives then those who died in the jungles of Vietnam.

That in no way diminishes the service of those who fought in Vietnam.

Whoa, the Soldier’s mother is confirming that Trump said “He knew what he was signing up for, but I guess it hurts anyways”.

Wonder if the President will say the Gold Star mother is lying.

Ahh, once again the Left turns a compliment into an insult. The soldier knew what the job description was and signed up to put his life on the line anyway. "Knew what he signed up for" shows respect for the decision he made and the self sacrifice given by these men and women.

Much of the Left just thinks they are uneducated, stupid, and have nowhere else to go. When you think that way, what Trump said would be an insult.

in trump's defense, his cognitive abilities have declined so much that the effects of his attempted coherent statements can't fairly be construed as intentional

The fallen Soldier’s mother said “President Trump did disrespect my son and my daughter and also me and my husband.”

The family themselves feel disrespected, this is not some left spin.

Of course they do. Congresswoman Wilson told them they were victims of this president's words. How could they not feel this way?

We're slowly becoming a nation of twits.
