“Information is being illegally given to the failing New York Times and Washington Post by the intelligence community,” he wrote on Twitter, suggesting that the NSA and the FBI might be responsible. “Just like Russia,” he added.
quote:
“The real scandal here is that classified information is illegally given out by ‘intelligence’ like candy,” Trump wrote. “Very un-American!”
quote:
Trump reminded the world that Russian President Vladimir Putin’s unchecked aggression began during the Obama administration. “Crimea was TAKEN by Russia during the Obama Administration,” he wrote. “Was Obama too soft on Russia?”

He sounds so defensive.

Going after the intelligence community again. That will help. Why not throw out 'Nazi's" again and really frick yourself in the arse Trump?

Yep. Trump has always been very vocal about his disapproval of leaking confidential information
wait

Which is so consistent with his messaging around Hillary's emails et al
Plus, isn't this a perfect example of "message" over "messenger" that kept getting harped on? When the DNC kept using their shitty excuse that "the real issue is that Russia is hacking our email servers" while completely ignoring the context of said leaks, Republicans (including most here) rightly lambasted them for shooting the messenger.
Now it seems that the fact that we have leaks is the issue, the content of those leaks be damned.

Oh... so was there confidential info in Hillary's emails.... or not?

'publicly feuding with the IC is preferable to privately feuding with the IC.'
JFK (posthumously)

If by "defensive" you mean accurate, then yeah.

I guess the litmus test of this board of " the source is irrelevant so long as the truth is out" only applies to democrats. When it cubes to treason, it is ok for Trump to commit it.

So, the stories are true then. How else would the information be illegal?

I'm sure that airing this shite out on twitter is the right way to go about fixing it.

Emails at the DNC were not confidential information. They were an independent, private organization's emails on gmail accounts, not government issued ones.

Actually it is. While the content of her emails were extremely damaging to her and rightfully so, Trump also campaigned on fixing the leaks in our intel community. One of the things he said during the campaign was that the Dems kept focusing on that the emails was hacked, but did not offer any solutions to prevent further cyber invasion.
Of course, the mouth breathers are unaware of this.

When dems' shady behavior gets exposed by leaks, they are the victims and the leakers the bad guys.
When the GOP has leaks revealing them doing a whole lot of nothing, the focus is on painting it as a GOP scandal and the leakers aren't even a part of the conversation.

quote:He should be concerned about it, but he's taken it to such an extreme. And given his explicitly approval of illegally accessed information and leaks when it benefited him, it's hypocritical and shows a lack of principles (although the norm in politics). He may be draining the swamp, but he's doing it with swamp behavior.
No, he sounds pissed. And rightly so if intelligence agents are leaking confidential information.

Yeah, publicly soliciting Russian hacks of emails and publication of info from Wikileaks is super consistent with his current "leaks are terrible" mantra. You're right.
