Trump similar to pre watergate nixon?

Go hardcore on the law and order stuff, but on domestic fiscal issues, take a surprisingly maverick/moderate/even somewhat liberal approach.
Trump called for paid family leave and government provided child care in his speech tonight. Nixon supported price controls, EPA regs, title IX, among other things.
Trump is absolutely veering the party away from the libertarian economic bent is has had since the reaganlution.
He is more in tune with ike and dick on economic stuff.

Keep in mind that Nixon had to work with an entirely democratic house of representatives and senate.

There is now proof that Nixon literally committed treason before he was elected in 1968. Bob Haldeman's notes have been discovered indicating that Dick was trying his best to scuttle the Paris Peace talks in regards to the Viet Nam war. The result was that the talks failed and almost another 20,000 Americans died on his watch. Like Barry Goldwater said of him, "he's the most dishonest son-of-a-bitch" he'd known. In the end, Nixon got better than he deserved.
