Here's a state statute describing what blackmail is:
Asking for an apology in order to stop embarrassing information from being revealed is not even close to blackmail.

Then challenge them with facts and on the issues. Handing them ammo that will be used to increase their ratings isn't exactly doing any damage.

He isn't going to sue. That is silly. This whole thing is silly. It wasn't blackmail. He told someone he could help them out if they apologize to him. Trump wasn't running the story. He said he would get it spiked if joe apologized. That's if the story is exactly as joe says. Nothing remotely illegal or unethical about that.
