How about commenting on the subject?

What do you think about term limits? I'm interested in the angry black man point of view on this.

SCOTUS has ruled that a Constitutional Amendment would be required to impose term limits.

That isn't going to happen.

I'm not excited about empty gestures, etc

ETA:

quote:

May 23, 1995 - WASHINGTON, May 22— The Supreme Court ruled today that in the absence of a constitutional amendment, neither states nor Congress may limit the number of terms that members of Congress can serve.

If it's good enough for the highest office in the land that oversees the laws being enacted then it should be good enough for the lawmakers of the land that make up those laws.

I think up to a point Trump has wanted to preserve his political capital in hopes of making a deal with the GOPe. I think it makes sense, but I dont think its going to work.

In the end I think Trump is going to have to do what he was sent to DC to do. Go scorched earth on the GOPe.

ETA: To the OP, this definitely means pushing term limits hard. With congressional approval ratings this is a definite winner in the eyes of the American public.

Happy to oblige. Every single member of Congress' tenure is limited to his term in office, at which point he must be re-voted into that office by his fellow citizens. And almost all the roadgators of the world are happy to send him back over and over again. Better than a 90% clip.

They're still buying their own hype that Trump is capable of grabbing Washington by the pussy.

Bully pulpit is all he has, but a very effective tool in his hands imo.

I said angry black man. Not a member of the black gay community. I don't know anyone that would consider you angry. I'm guessing you play golf and maybe, gasp, tennis.

And until you have my voting record in your hands you are just poop throwing.

If only there was a way we could make that happen without running to the federal government like children.

If only...

Hasn't really worked so far.

Congress hasn't done anything to advance Trump's agenda. Trump can't really make Congress anymore unpopular than they already are. Almost all of America hates them.

Why do y'all want to limit a free people's ability to choose who they want to represent them in Washington? We have the best kind of term limits available to a free people today...the voting booth....

Its always been a huge joke to me that Trumpkins thought Trump would just roll through congress doing what he wanted. Watching them melt when Trump ran into reality has been one of my greatest pleasures.

That being said, I do think Trump could be extremely effective if he went hard against the GOPe candidates when they totally bitch out on the conservative agenda. Calling them out by name etc. I think eventually it may be the only thing he can do effectively and I think a large part of his constituency wants to see it happen and don't give a shite whether he actually gets anything done as long as he's waging total war.

Shouldn't this apply to the office of president also then?

What the flip?! It was like two trannies who looked just like girls and that was years ago and I didn't smile. Enough with the gay smears.

I gave golf a shot. Didn't take. Love tennis, though. Keep my racket and bag in the backseat in case an opportunity arises to school some rookies.

Yeah you strike me as soooo politically unconventional and unpredictable. Regular maverick.

Well, instead of going at the GOPe he actually did the exact opposite and went after the frickin Freedom Caucus.

Shockingly(well, maybe not so much) half the Trumpkins here went full automaton and turned on the FC because Shitlord Trump commanded it. I don't think that stuff is going to fly for too long though if this budget debacle is any indication. Lots of posters here were starting to turn and some talk radio hosts yesterday who had been somewhat reserved criticizing Trump were much more vocal. He keeps up the way he's going he may managed to lose his real base.
