quote:

: President Trump may soon issue a pardon for Joe Arpaio, the colorful former Arizona sheriff who was found guilty two weeks ago of criminal contempt for defying a state judge’s order to stop traffic patrols targeting suspected undocumented immigrants. In his final years as Maricopa County sheriff, Arpaio had emerged as a leading opponent of illegal immigration.

quote:

“I am seriously considering a pardon for Sheriff Arpaio,” the president said Sunday, during a conversation with Fox News at his club in Bedminster, N.J. “He has done a lot in the fight against illegal immigration. He’s a great American patriot and I hate to see what has happened to him.”

This will cause delicious melts.

Bigly melts.

Predict the outrage.

Much abuse of power!

Probably won't hurt him because anyone objecting to it was never going to support Trump anyway.

Sounds swamp-like, so it's not surprising.

Good.

He should have pardoned Sheriff Joe immediately after he was convicted but, unlike the presstitutes in the MSM and the fascist sore loser lefties who are saying his statement today is "Too little too late", I say, "Better late than never."

Targeted enforcement is a linchpin of tyranny.

You sure are a lot simpler than you hold yourself out to be

Well a political pardon is essentially the same targeted reasoning, if it doesn't go through the DOJ recommended guidelines (5 years post-conviction), and is based on political support.

Well I'm flattered you even perceived my presentation as more complex.

He has the right to do it. He's the president.

Joe Arpaio broke the law repeatedly. Trump is just proving that he doesn't care about "rule of law" at all. He cares about getting his way. So, yeah, go ahead and pardon him. The law says he can. But, in doing so, he's admitting that the law that convicted Arpaio is less important than being someone that Trump likes.

Fitting.

Down vote away, sheep.

Why is Mexican immigration so personal for you?

You really seem to be passionate about immigration
