Nearly 56,000 bridges nationwide, which vehicles cross 185 million times a day, are structurally deficient, a bridge construction group announced Wednesday.

The American Road and Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA) list of 55,710 deficient bridges includes high-profile spans such as Throgs Neck in New York, Yankee Doodle in Connecticut and Memorial Bridge in Washington, D.C.

People won't give a shite until a really big one fails, and then blame the people that designed it 100 years ago.

Everything falls down eventually. Gravity always wins.

You need to go back to the thread you started and answer some questions being asked of you.

Didn't a bridge fall and kill a bunch of people less than 15 years ago? In Missouri or something?

But we're still arguing about the possibility of Trump knowing that Flynn had a phone conversation to the second most powerful country in the world.

We clearly have our priorities straight.

Put your money on the main bridge, federal/state bridge, connecting Little Rock and North Little Rock. Within the last two years the state asked the Feds to do a "repairs needed" assessment of the bridge to see how to make those repairs. The Feds assessment, the bridge is in such deplorable shape that they said they would not sign off on any repairs to the bridge. Said the whole thing needs to be replaced and since the the assessment was made, I have not seen one word about what will happen to the bridge.

This was my first thought as well.

I'm not saying that we don't need more and better infrastructure, but why do people pay any attention to studies that amount to "researchers say their research shows more money required for their research"

Typically these studies are done by the guys that get blamed after no money is slotted to them to do necessary repairs.
