Conservative Trump bitches. He is setting the bar for what the role of the federal government should be. Cutting the wasteful bloated government agencies. Time to tighten your belt beltway boys.

Leftists: "The lives of our children will be devastated without Sesame Street."

I doubt enough of Congress shares his vision for it to come to fruition. It's one thing to say this or that needs to be cut or eliminated. It's quite another when that cut impacts people in your district that you have to answer to.

It's really quite sad. Heard Rex Tillerson talking earlier about cutting foreign aid and trying to do more with less in the state department and he's probably being called a fascist pos by the left. It really refreshing to have business minded people running things.

I agree. Those in Congress will never allow the cuts to the bureaucracy.

I'm wanting to see how this affects our national debt.

It's supposedly deficit neutral because of the increase in military spending, which I don't really agree with. The military could certainly do more with less

Mulkavey answered this, he has experience as an elected official in his background.

"The President ran on, campaigned on, promised to work for, ALL Americans not just some segment or limited constituency. This is HIS budget, what he is presenting to those who represent parts of the whole to review, to respond, to negotiate."

He also addressed the revenue neutrality of this SPENDING budget versus the coming tax and other REVENUE reforms to come later this year. He specifically mentioned it may be following the August recess before the Balanced Budget is thus completed.

So conservative to increase defence spending 50B for a country that has no military competition and has never fought a war on its own ground.

Okay? It's still up to Congress to draft the budget and set discretionary spending within that budget. They're not going to cut discretionary spending to the levels he has proposed in his budget.

So what?
A strong military is a conservative position.

And here I thought Obama was an irresponsible liberal spender.

But since this is the most conservative budget ever proposed, and it's about 99% of Obama's 2016 proposal, then Obama must be pretty conservative too.

Sure, but when there has been plenty of bloat identified, increasing its budget and leaving the known bloat is not very conservative.

No it's not. The Soviet Union and the PRC spent billions on having a strong military.
