Otherwise, there wouldn't have been anyone to play their part in the defense of America. And as far as defending anything with your life, how would he know anything about something like that, refusing to serve his country like he did.

But by god, he sure is a tough ole SOB, sitting in the White House protected by secret service agents 24/7.

And as far as John McCain is concerned, he ain't no war hero. Whining Donald likes his heros not to be captured.

Agreed. The rest of us know better than to allow facts into an emotionally-driven hysteria.

You have one of these for when you are feeling extra "buzz"?

Good for date night/boys night out???

I think you can likely pull that look off successfully.

Trumps lack of military service is completely irrelevant. Focusing on that is exactly the kind of foot-shooting that (they) want us to engage in.

Well, damn. I don't care who actually wrote that speech, it's only because of DJ Trump, whom I did not vote for, that the current US president would ever give a speech like that. Bravo and credit where it is due.

That hit a number of marks for me: emphasis on decreased government regulation of the citizenry, unapologetic endorsement of Western values (including specifically the rights of women), and a statement of defiance to those from the east (Russia) and south (Islamists) who might seek to undermine the West.

I need to read the whole thing but all I would like to have seen is some nod to those countries not in the West who are nonetheless with us (e.g., Japan) but that's nitpicking. This is outrageously good and what an antidote to the Obama apology speeches.

Trump was soaking up the praise; he looked like Il Duce up there.

CNN was trying to mute out the Trump chants.

Trumps Awkward Greetings

Typical Washington Post, the comment section scares me. There are too many morons in this country.

We literally have millions screaming impeachment and embarrassment and can't even give you a single reason why.

Great speech. A lot will hate it because it came from trump's mouth, but they will basically have to take the position of being anti-west to disagree with any of it.

It's absolutely insane how "intellectual" Republicans like Bill Kristol are panning the speech.

I love how Trump wins
