Keep seeing voters want to see him debate. Trump could nail the debate and the same people who think he should debate wouldn’t vote for him.

Remember they hate him and you.

He's not gonna sleep with you no matter how much you try to defend him...

He is asking for the nomination again after failing in the last general. The least he could do is show up and try to show us he’s capable of finishing the job this time.

I agree with OP

And will add

Trump dodging debates will be seen as Beta energy and lose him some support.

Trump in the debate would essentially be 7 lower-tiered candidates just continuously teeing off on him. Literally the entire debate. It wouldn't be about Joe. It wouldn't be about Hunter. It wouldn't be about anything other than Trump, Trump, Trump, Trump's handling of Covid, Trump's indictments, Jan 6 and Trump Trump Trump Trump Trump.

He's not even going to be there and that's still going to be a huuuuuuuuuge cross section of the entire show. Not about the guy you're trying to get out of the office. Just about the guy who's in first place in the race.

He'd have nothing to gain and I completely understand why he'd decline to be there.

He lost a debate to Joe Potato brain Biden.

That’s why he won’t debate.

He did do really well in the CNN townhall. He at least won over that audience. I could see it adding value. Trump is also just fantastic in front of an audience. I don’t think him debating is a bad idea at all. The issue is the moderation

Imagine being so gullible that you believe the last election was fair and not rampant fraud. Oh wait, you’re a Desantis supporter

Do you remember how he embarrassed the frick out of CNN when they did a townhall with him? Do you remember how pissy so much of the leftist media went into after that? Because he had a solid showing they lost their shite, saying CNN was (essentially) promoting Trump. Anderson Cooper pretty much apologized to CNN viewers for it (even though it was their only ratings winner in years).

Why would any Trump supporter not want more of that?

Because during a debate he'll have to talk about policy which he is terrible at

Trump's personal gain is irrelevant.

This is about the American People, not Trump.

I agree.

Any debate will only be used to hurt him. Take the risk on getting the nomination... wait until it's against sleepy Joe to debate.

[This doesn't mean I don't want him to debate during the primary. I'd love the comedy, if nothing else]

That’s just complete bull crap. If Trump debates and excels the primary is over. People that are looking at other candidates have their reasons. Those could include things like his mental faculties, has he learned anything (what would he have done differently), his plans for a 2nd term and how would he accomplish them and so on..

A good to great performance puts those issues to bed. He can then turn his fury onto Biden as the primary is officially over at that point. A poor performance puts him at risk.

His mere existence in their poli-sphere is a gigantic mirror. They hate themselves. That's why they hate him.

So basically his current campaign? It isn't about Joe or Democrats it's about Trump and his railing against conservative opposition.
