And liberals find a way to complain about this.

If you are a true conservative then you should have a problem with this.

Hate to tell you this partner but tax incentives are how you create jobs. It isn't a liberal/conservative issue.

Total payroll is important

68,729,003

somebody figure out how much tax revenue can be generated from that number, because I'm sure it greatly exceeds 7 million.

Not perfect but it will be a net positive.

It's going to take small steps for a while.

Big point about that 7 million break is it is performance/job dependent if they take the jobs away in 2 years they don't get to keep the cut. The taxes from the jobs themselves Will pay for the cuts.

I am a true conservative so I have no problem when anybody gets to keep more of their own money.

Tax incentives? You mean crony capitalism....It isn't okay when Obama did it, and it's not okay with Trump does it.

It was suppose to be 15 dollars an hour not 30 so they will probably bitch about that.

You obviously are not if you think this is okay.

If states didn't give tax incentives to these companies hey would just go somewhere that does, or go to Mexico. This is the world we live in. If you want your people to have jobs you have to bring industry to your state and country. What does Obama have to do with it anyway we are talking about at the state level. Federal policy is a completely different discussion.

Giving tax incentives to one company in an industry is crony capitalism. What about Carrier's competitors? Additionally, having the Federal Government threaten business via potentially losing government contracts is an absolute overreach of power.

Do you people have any intellectual honesty? Or just because Trump does it then its okay. Wrong is wrong no matter who is in power.

This isn't really an ideological issue I don't know where you TruCons are getting this stuff. Is Red State melting or something? I don't know what you do for a living but if you work at any of these plants in louisiana you are the beneficiary of louisiana incentivizing their being here. If you work in Louisiana period you benefit from it because the state benefits from it.

Will there be spending cuts to offset or will other taxpayers foot the bill?

Agreed

They should get tax incentives too. Or let's not call them tax incentives, let's just lower the corporate tax rate across the board. No favoritism.

No it isn't. The federal government is supposed to be for the people, if the government chooses to do business with Carrier's competitors because their competitors employee American citizens, that's SERVING THE BEST INTEREST OF AMERICAN CITIZENS.

Capitalism+politics=cronyism.

What alternative do you suggest cause in my reading of the last 10,000 years of human history this is as common as sand.

If it's even neutral I think it's a net positive. Although I hope it's just a typical incentive structure that others could be privy to as well.

That being said, is this more of a function of Mike Pence--as the governor?

It's serving the best interest of those that benefit, the rest don't because the government is overpaying for commodities.
