President-elect Donald Trump blasted a New York Times columnist on Saturday for suggesting Trump has an "incentive" to benefit from a terrorist attack similar to the circumstances surrounding those on September 11, 2001.

"They had a clown today in the failing New York Times saying I wanted to have another World Trade Center catastrophe because it was good for my base," Trump said at a rally in Mobile, Alabama.

"What kind of demented person would say that?" Trump added.

Krugman is a fricking tool.

I'd spit in his face if I ever came across him.

I love when liberal hacks ruin their credibility by showing their true colors.

Krugman is just revealing to the world what a hateful left wing propaganda tool he is.

I'm so glad DJT is not afraid to call these aholes out like that. No other candidate on the R team would have the balls to stand up to that lying weasel simply bc he was given a fake award by his peers for being a fake news provider.

I'm starting to regret not having voted for Trump. Not yet, but almost there.

Take your time.

Just figure it out by 2020 if he does well.

If he doesn't we are fricked anyway so it doesn't matter.

After reading about 10 posts in I get the idea that y'all are certain Trump wouldn't benefit if he could from such an event.

Bush certainly did...and with Trump openly admitting that he is smart enough to need intelligence briefings who knows what the future holds and how it will effect the popularity of a very unpopular president....no one can deny that 9/11 is the best thing to ever happen to W.....

I can because it is an idiotic statement. It ruined his presidency.

Pretty fricked up thing to say. Unless you're suggesting that Bush was complicit in the 9/11 attacks, in which case, you're batshit and we should just ignore you.

Profiting from does not equate to wanting something to happen.

But you already knew that and were being purposefully disingenuous.

The question is why?

What gain do you get by all this repeated intellectual dishonesty?

Does it make you feel better about yourself?

Krugman never said he would profit from an attack...that he would benefit from one...he also didn't suggest that Trump would encourage such and attack...what he said was if one were to happen Trump would benefit the same way Bush did because they both have an air of illegitimacy hanging over them...neither was able to get more votes than their opponent, both were pretty unpopular just after the election and Trump is now in a position where his air of illegitimacy is heightened by the fact that the Intelligence community largely agrees that Russia intervened on his behalf in the election. Of course a 9/11 event would probably bolster his popularity....Krugman never suggested that Trump would encourage such an event but he could easily do so if he so chose to do so and not reading intelligence briefings and dismissing sound intelligence out of hand because it does not fit his political agenda is a good (or bad) place to start given your perspective....

Good to know that winning a US election by following the US Constitution is considered illegitimate by the Democrats.

If the past eight years should've taught you ANYTHING at all, it's that Democrats view our Constitution as a roll of Charmin.
