The decider of how big the census is will be the determination by the courts whether minority-majority districts are required under various Civil Rights and Voting Rights acts.
If they are retained, the Dems bank a certain number of districts but are ghettoized, no pun intended, into being the party of the urban minorities.
If they go away, then states have the rights to create more competitive districts which reduce the Dems' floor but raise their ceiling considerably.
Frankly, the latter is a better option even if it gives the Dems a shot of winning the House just because it makes it harder for them to go hard-left if they don't have so many shitbirds like SJL, Waters, Clyburn, etc, protected solely due to race.

You are correct. I did not included the courts because I wanted someone else to bring it up.
Guess who will soon control the courts.

Trump isn't much different than Obama. Just different issues

Yup. Had Obama made this comment, the right would have crucified him. Now Trumkins are suddenly anti-open market.
Trump is converting so called "conservatives" into liberals. And they are going happily.

How about he tell them to make a Chevy Cruz that isn't a giant POS? Easily the worst rental car I've ever driven and I see no way the top trim level can save it from being such a god awful ride.

Because $10 per hour manufacturing job will Dave our economy?
The cognitive dissonance of the right is hilarious.

I'm pretty sure auto workers make a good bit more than 10 bucks an hour.
It's weird to see people so angry about Americans getting jobs.

I don't mind them. It's a standard compact car like the Corolla or Focus. None of them are overly pleasant.
They do make them in Ohio.

What's weird is to see a Republican make punitive tax threats to a US company instead of changing the tax environment at home to encourage US companies to manufacture here.
Does Trump think RAISING taxes is they way to create American jobs?

Is that a realistic possibility for someone who is not yet president?

I'm pretty sure he's floated proposals to do that.

No. Find a balance. It has been since 1828 that Congress passed a tariff specifically to protect American manufactures.
It worked then and into the 20th century.

Gee that does not sound like a free enterprise, capitalist to dictate to a business that they produce their cars where he says or face a tax.
Trumpkins remind me how this coincides with free market capitalism?
I've always supported the idea of tarriffs but this board most certainly did not, not until fairly recently. Not sure if it's just bc of Trump or what.

Meh, the balance it disturbed by reckless regulations that force manufacturers out of country. Work on that and then I'll hear arguments that imply that those who invest have fewer "rights" than those who work, or those who consume.
Liberty has to be universal or it isn't liberty.

Which looks better:
quote:
"General Motors is sending Mexican made model of Chevy Cruze to U.S. car dealers-tax free across border. Make in U.S.A. or pay big border tax!"
Or:
quote:
"We're going to drop the corporate tax rate in America so low that companies will be falling all over themselves to bring jobs back to America. As a matter of fact, the only thing slowing them down will be the Wall."
