The new foreign sanctions bill contains a hidden mandate that foreign governments monitor cryptocurrency circulations as a measure to “combat terrorism.”

any monitoring/regulation of cryptos is a threat, based on the nature of cryptos

My title is meant to attract views to the thread, but it is is a very big step forward from our government, which has been rather hands-off when it comes to digital non-fiat money.

I thought these kind of transactions can be viewable by anyone in the public.

I think there are some that are private, iirc.

Personally, my ideological bias tends to support the emergence of this type of currency/transactions, but it does indeed make it easier to facilitate the trading of nasty stuff. It has made it much easier to enemy groups to engage in trade through the deep web, etc.

But, but, but....bitcoin can't be controlled by the government.

Wiki told us that repeatedly on the Money Talk Board.

That's why bitcoin is going to bring down central banks and governments!

You can't control crypto-currencies, this is where people just completely miss the boat on it. It is peer to peer, and requires limited infrastructure.

It is the future. Just a matter of time.

Which both makes me happy and scared at the same time.

Rogue terror groups are loving the emergence of this type of currency.

Why?

ETH wasn't volatile enough to be fun in terms of day trading and i didn't feel like really cracking down on monitoring it

i took a small profit and bounced (right before it shot up )

Questionable timing. Come back to me when I'm still hodling after the crash.

i mean, yes, but it is pretty easy to hide the transactions by "mixing"

You can use a service to do it yourself.
