everyone of every persuasion is condemning them, how can they fricking still think this is good for their company?

I think the only reasonable conclusion is that there's other stuff they know the hackers got that is being threatened for release and SONY views that threat as worse than the backlash they're dealing with now.

That's my thought.

He's right.

However, his trial lawyer buddies would have been all over Sony and the theater owners if anything happened.

That's absolutely what happened. The liability insurer for the big movie chains said not no, but frick no.

Not having it in theaters is not what's killing Sony. I think the real killer is COMPLETELY quashing the movie.

If they'd have said "for safety concerns, we'll pull it from theaters and release it straight to DVD/rental market", they probably cover some of their arse.

If Sony really does quash the movie entirely and prevent it from being seen on any format, then we'll know the hackers got something super dark and Sony is scared shitless.

Funny since Obama is more of a pussy than Sony is.

That's what I think.

The safety angle sort of plays OK even if it is driven mostly by legal fears.

But, the only reason to kill it altogether is if the hackers are still holding shite over their heads that they deem worse than the backlash of killing the movie.

If that were the case, they could release it now

If Sony responds by releasing the movie, they look worse for only doing the right thing when it no longer mattered

NK hackers already won
