5. When obama said "If I had a son, he would look like Travon." -- this ressonants with me because it feels like it was the first time an American president explicitly reached out to an oppressed class and said "I can truly empathize with your plight." That comment alone triggered me to join his "my brothers keeper" initiative, that I am a member of to this day. I felt like he was speaking to me and my unborn seed in that moment and countless others do too. It made many feel like this America thing is ours too and he has given a lot of young boys a person to aspire to be.

gee i was gonna say Apollo 11 but now i just feel silly!

First Gay President married to a Transgender is pretty noteworthy. Wonder why SS left this out?

You look at Obama as a father figure. Do you know your biological father?

You know nothing about the black diasporic feeling so that's why you are clearly coming off as ignorant.

Read a book, get to know some black folks outside of work

Not as a father figure but he is revered to me.

Step into 90% of black homes in this country, and you'll find obama memorabilia.

We have his books, t shirts, hoodies, pictures

In no special order.

I was sitting in a bar in Spain maybe in 1975 and they had the news on the only TV. There was an announcer who looked like a Spanish Walter Cronkite delivering it. They put up a chart with Francia, Germania and some other countries on it. It was money because there were a bazillion zeros on the figures - pesatas. The one country had about three more commas than any other country. 4,000,000,000,000,000,000,000p Something like that. Who is that, I wondered? They sure have a lot of jing. It was the Estados Unidos.

The Apollo 11 Moon landing on July 20, 1969.

Watching Lieutenant Colonel Ed White do the first U.S. Space walk.

Lt. Col White was one of the astronauts killed in the Apollo One fire in 1968.

We were in a bar (yeah, it's a theme) on Okinawa and this British guy came over to us. We were in dress whites for the Marine Corps Ball. He told us that as a child he and his mother had been interned by the Japanese. He was only 9 or 10 at the time. After several years he said he saw some B-17 Flying Fortress bombers fly over (probably B-29s) and he knew that they would be freed. He bought all our drinks. That was pretty cool. That was 1983.

I was glad Obama was elected. He turned out to be a useless dick.

I do. Used to work at Birmingham City Schools. It's sad to see a group of people so blindly and willfully ignorant. Anytime Obama would do something awful, it was like all of their TVs suddenly stopped working and politics suddenly wasn't a topic of discussion.

As I have posted on this board a number of times - I tweeted it as recently as yesterday - what the United States brought to the stream of ideas and progress in the history of the world is this: EQUAL JUSTICE UNDER LAW.

Obama would not allow the laws to operate on that fricking horrible Hillary Clinton for the literally thousands of felonies that she announced at a news conference.

Only a bunch of clueless fricks would revere him now.

How large was this cord? Was it a cord of wood, or something else?

FYI, it's "chord" you dumbass.

Sorry man, didn't know it hit you that hard.

Maybe we can find common ground in developing a government funded repatriation program?

When Reagan invaded and defeated Grenada. One of the tougher weekends in American military history and by God, he showed em.
