Coburn is a great American that we need more of. He is a real champion of taxpayers and is not afraid to point out pork.

His successor, James Lankford, has been very involved in the House in the area of government waste and duplication.

How is Coburn's health?

The GOP should be putting guys like him front and center,

Would upset the apple cart. D.C. GOP power guys love to have someone like Corburn and Rand speak out about waste every now and then, mostly election season against Democrat opponents. But they sure as hell don't want him out there too much pointing out waste and vote-buying pork, because eventually that trail will lead to Republican Congressmen too many times as well.

Just think if we had a Corburn type in the Louisiana Legislature. About half of his legislative colleagues in his own party, and much of the current Executive branch, would be trying to remove him from any committees of influence.

This is exactly right.

Spend all you want. We'll print more. Can't have any extra money just laying around not being spent.

Neither could about another 40% who do. That's why the re-election rate in Congress and State Legislatures is so damn high.

Truth is, very few people care about wasteful, vote-buying projects and scams, as long as the person with the correct letter behind his/her name is in office.

Sadly, I have to concur.

Just skimmed the report. A lot of good stuff in there.

And a lot of stuff that sounds silly out of context-

"A study that paid people to watch grass grow!" well really a study to see how a certain type of marsh grass grows as part of a wetlands restoration demonstration project in Florida.
