I think we are going to see this happen over and over again so let's keep a record

11/18/2016

Ford

2,800 jobs

"Fields' announcement wasn't much of a surprise. Ford said in April it would invest $1.6 billion to build a new plant in Mexico and create 2,800 jobs so it can build small cars there"

Winning

"Spokeswoman Christin Baker said Ford "confirmed with the President-elect that our small Lincoln utility vehicle made at the Louisville Assembly plant will stay in Kentucky".
"We are encouraged that President-elect Trump and the new Congress will pursue policies that will improve U.S. competitiveness and make it possible to keep production of this vehicle here in the United States," she added, in a statement.

Ford deal saved zero jobs:

Ford CEO

Carrier deal saved 800 jobs:

WSJ

Keeping this updated over the next two years would be interesting though.

The CEO just announced 1,100 jobs. We are trusting that over the WSJ.

You cant say that no jobs were saved. There are secondary businesses that benefit from having those plants in close proximity with thousands of workers. There are suppliers, there are restaurants, and other types of retail establishments that benefit from the employment of those workers. If you're a restaurant located nearby and you do a lot of business with those workers, you don't think you and your employees will be hurt if those plants close up and move away to Mexico? It's the very definition of what an economy is.

They were never shutting down the Ford plant. They were just going to switch which models were made where.

The 1100 includes the 800 saved and 300 other jobs that weren't going to leave. It's explained in the WSJ article.

Since they were given $7 million in tax breaks by the state of Indiana, wouldn't you say this is more of a Mike Pence thing?

Neither one really passes the smell test of just being politics anyway.

Oh if you wanted to count the jobs saved because these jobs remain then that's great. I'm just pointing out the numbers in the OP are just wrong

So far we are at 800 jobs saved

No its 1,100 + the future jobs of the new heater unit addition

And Trump was right, Ford was going to shut down the escape and Buick lines and ship them to the new small car plant in Mexico. It was going to happen, to say anything else is naive

They were sending those lines to Mexico and moving other lines up to the US. Again, the Ford CEO explains it.
